View Patent ↗Safeners for herbicides are suitable for increasing the microbicidal activity of fungicides.
1. A method of increasing the microbiocidal activity of a fungicide comprising treating a seed or a plant with the fungicide and a safener, wherein the safener is mefenpyr diethyl and wherein the fungicide is tebuconazole, wherein the mefenpyr diethyl and the tebuconazole are applied to the seed or plant in synergistic amounts, wherein the weight ratio of mefenpyr diethyl to tebuconazole is from 50:1 to 1:50.
2. The method according to claim 1 wherein the seed or the plant is treated with a composition comprising the fungicide and the safener.
3. The method according to claim 1 wherein the seed is treated with the fungicide and the safener.
4. The method according to claim 1 wherein the plant is treated with the fungicide and the safener.
5. The method according to claim 1 wherein the seed is in contact with the fungicide and the safener.
6. The method according to claim 1 wherein the plant is in contact with the fungicide and the safener.
7. The method according to claim 6 wherein the plant is a transgenic plant.
8. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the weight ratio of mefenpyr diethyl to tebuconazole is 20:1 to 1:20.
9. A method of controlling phytopathogenic fungi comprising treating a seed or a plant with a fungicide and a safener, wherein the safener is mefenpyr diethyl and wherein the fungicide is tebuconazole, wherein the mefenpyr diethyl and the tebuconazole are applied to the seed or plant in synergistic amounts, wherein the weight ratio of mefenpyr diethyl to tebuconazole is from 50:1 to 1:50.
10. A method according to claim 9 , wherein the fungi is plasmodiophoromycetes, oomycetes, chytridiomycetes, zygomycetes, ascomycetes, basidiomycetes, or deuteromycetes.
11. The method according to claim 9 , wherein the fungi is Erysiphe graminis, Pyrenophora teres, or Leptosphaeria nodorum.
12. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the plant treated is wheat.
13. The method according to claim 9 , wherein the mefenpyr diethyl and the tebuconazole are applied to the seed or plant simultaneously.
14. The method according to claim 9 , wherein the mefenpyr diethyl and the tebuconazole are applied to the seed or plant in succession.
15. The method according to claim 9 , wherein the weight ratio of mefenpyr diethyl to tebuconazole is 20:1 to 1:20.
