Abstract

Embodiments are described for displaying charging status on a multi-screen device. In embodiments, a determination is made that the device is connected to a power source for charging the battery. In response to the determination, a battery charging indicator is displayed. In some embodiments, if the device was originally powered off or in a standby mode, after a predetermined period of time, the device will be powered off or returned to the standby mode, and the battery charging indicator will no longer be displayed.

Claims (45)

1 - 20 . (canceled)

21 . A method, comprising:

determining by at least one processor of a multi-screen device that the multi-screen device has been connected to a power source for charging a battery of the multi-screen device and whether the multi-screen device is in an open position or in a closed position, wherein the multi-screen device comprises a first display and a second display;

in response to the determining step, selecting by executing instructions by the at least one processor to select the first display, when the multi-screen device is determined to be in the closed position, and select the combination of the first and the second display, when the multi-screen device is determined to be in the open position, to display a battery charging indicator; and

displaying by the at least one processor on the selected one of the first display and the combination of the first and the second display the battery charging indicator.

22 . The method of claim 21 , wherein when the multi-screen device is in a stand-by mode, the method further comprising:

after the determining step, the at least one processor activating the at least one of the first display or the second display.

23 . The method of claim 22 , further comprising:

after the displaying step, returning the multi-screen device to stand-by mode after a first predetermined period of time.

24 . The method of claim 23 , further comprising:

highlighting a portion of the at least one of the first display and the combination of the first and the second displays while the multi-screen device is connected to the power source.

25 . The method of claim 24 , wherein the portion of the first display comprises a button.

26 . The method of claim 25 , wherein the button is a home button.

27 . The method of claim 22 , wherein in response to the determining step and when the multi-screen is in a closed position, activating the first display.

28 . The method of claim 22 , wherein in response to the determining step and when the multi-screen is in an opened position, activating the combination of the first display and the second screen display.

29 . The method of claim 21 , wherein when the multi-screen device is powered on, the method further comprising:

in response to the determining step, generating an audio signal.

30 . A non-transitory computer readable medium storing computer executable instructions that when executed by at least one processor performs a method comprising:

determining that a multi-screen device has been connected to a power source for charging a battery of the multi-screen device when the multi-screen device is in a stand-by mode and whether the multi-screen device is in an open position or in a closed position, wherein the multi-screen device comprises a first display and a second display;

in response to the determining step, activating the first display, when the multi-screen device is determined to be in the closed position and the combination of the first and second display, when the multi-screen device is determined to be in the open position;

displaying on the activated one of the first display and the combination of the first and second display a battery charging indicator; and

after the displaying step, returning the multi-screen device to stand-by mode after a first predetermined period of time.

31 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 30 , further comprising:

highlighting a portion of the at least one of the first display and the second display while the multi-screen device is connected to the power source.

32 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 30 , further comprising:

determining that the multi-screen device has been disconnected from the power source.

33 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 30 , wherein the battery charging indicator is displayed until the determining that the multi-screen device has been disconnected from the power source.

34 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 30 , further comprising:

displaying on at least one of the first display and the second display, an estimated time until full charging of the battery.

35 . A dual display communication device, comprising:

a first touch sensitive display on a first display;

a second touch sensitive display on a second display;

a computer readable medium that stores computer executable instructions that when executed by at least one processor perform a method comprising:

determining that the dual screen communication device has been connected to a power source for charging a battery of the dual screen communication device while the dual screen communication device is powered on and whether the multi-screen device is in an open position or in a closed position; and

in response to the determining:

selecting the first touch sensitive display, when the multi-screen device is determined to be in the closed position, and the combination of the first and second touch sensitive displays, when the multi-screen device is determined to be in the open position, to display a battery charging indicator;

displaying on the selected one of the first touch sensitive display and the combination of the first and second touch sensitive displays a battery charging indicator; and

generating an audio signal.

36 . The device of claim 35 , wherein the battery charging indicator is displayed in an update notification bar.

37 . The device of claim 35 , further comprising:

highlighting a portion of the first display while the dual screen device is connected to the power source.

38 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising:

in response to determining that the multi-screen device has been disconnected from the power source, generating an audio signal and removing the battery charging indicator from the first touch sensitive display.

39 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 30 , further comprising:

highlighting a first portion of the first screen display and a second portion of the second screen display while the multi-screen device is connected to the power source.
