TREATMENT METHOD USING ULTRASONIC SURGICAL SYSTEM
A method for treating cartilage includes bringing a surgical portion into contact with the cartilage, ultrasonically vibrating the surgical portion with ultrasonic waves, melting the cartilage by friction heat generated between the surgical portion and the cartilage due to the ultrasonic vibrating of the surgical portion, and excising a melted area of the cartilage by the ultrasonic vibration.
1 . A method for treating cartilage, comprising:
bringing a surgical portion into contact with the cartilage;
ultrasonically vibrating the surgical portion with ultrasonic waves;
melting the cartilage by friction heat generated between the surgical portion and the cartilage due to the ultrasonic vibrating of the surgical portion; and
excising a melted area of the cartilage by the ultrasonic vibration.
2 . The method for treating cartilage according to claim 1 , wherein the melting the cartilage includes generating the friction heat to heat the cartilage to exceed 45° C.
3 . The method for treating cartilage according to claim 2 , wherein the melting of the cartilage includes generating the friction heat to heat the cartilage not to exceed 220° C.
4 . The method for treating cartilage according to claim 1 , wherein the melting the cartilage includes generating the friction heat to heat the cartilage to exceed 120° C.
5 . The method for treating cartilage according to claim 1 , wherein the melting of the cartilage includes generating the friction heat to heat the cartilage to fall within a range of 45° C. to 160° C.
