Abstract

According to some aspects of the present disclosure, systems and methods are disclosed for cabinet frames, including frame members coupled together via corner copulas. Frame members may include external and internal channels and surfaces for mounting external and internal components. Systems and methods are also disclosed for coupling the frame members and corner copulas.

Claims (30)

1 - 20 . (canceled)

21 . An electrical equipment cabinet comprising:

frame members defining fours sides, a top, and a bottom of the cabinet, each frame member including an external side and internal side, the internal sides of at least two of the frame members each defining at least one channel and having a corresponding mounting surface; and

an internal component positioned against the mounting surfaces and coupled to the corresponding channels of each of the at least two frame members.

22 . The electrical equipment cabinet of claim 21 , further comprising:

at least two fastener receivers, each fastener receiver positioned in a corresponding channel of one of the at least two frame members; and

at least two fasteners corresponding to the fastener receivers;

wherein the internal component defines a plurality of openings and the at least two fasteners each extend through a corresponding one of the plurality of openings and are received in a corresponding one of the at least two fastener receivers to fasten the internal component to the at least two frame members.

23 . The electrical equipment cabinet of claim 22 , wherein each channel is a T-nut slot, each fastener receiver is a T-nut, and each fastener is a bolt.

24 . The electrical equipment cabinet of claim 21 , wherein the at least two frame members are on opposing sides of the electrical equipment cabinet.

25 . The electrical equipment cabinet of claim 21 , wherein each frame member has a same cross-sectional profile.

26 . The electrical equipment cabinet of claim 21 , wherein the internal component is an internal frame configured to support an electrical equipment component disposed within the electrical equipment cabinet.

27 . The electrical equipment cabinet of claim 21 , further comprising one or more exterior panels mounted to corresponding external sides of the frame members.

28 . A method of constructing an electrical equipment cabinet, the method including:

coupling a plurality of frame members together by coupling corner copulas between adjacent frame members to define four sides, a top, and a bottom of the cabinet, at least two of the frame members each including an internal side defining a channel and having a corresponding mounting surface;

positioning an internal component against the mounting surfaces of each of the at least two frame members; and

coupling the internal component to the corresponding channels of the at least two frame members.

29 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the internal component defines a plurality of openings, and wherein coupling an internal component includes:

positioning a fastener receiver in the channel of one of the at least two frame members; and

inserting a fastener through one of the plurality of openings and into the fastener receiver to couple the internal component to said one of the at least two frame members.

30 . The method of claim 29 , wherein each channel is a T-nut slot, each fastener receiver is a T-nut, and each fastener is a bolt.

31 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the at least two frame members are on opposing sides of the electrical equipment cabinet.

32 . The method of claim 28 , wherein each frame member has a same cross-sectional profile.

33 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the internal component is an internal frame, the method further comprising:

coupling an electrical equipment component to the internal frame.

34 . The method of claim 28 , further comprising:

coupling an exterior panel to external sides of four adjacent frame members.

35 . The method of claim 34 , wherein the internal component is coupled to the at least two frame members before the exterior panels are coupled to the external sides of the four adjacent frame members.

36 . The method of claim 34 , wherein coupling the exterior panels does not interfere with coupling the internal component to the at least two frame members.

37 - 97 . (canceled)
