Abstract

Disclosed herein is A head mounted display including: (A) an eyeglasses frame-like frame to be mounted to an observer's head; (B) an image display device; (C) an image sensing device mounted to the frame; and (D) a correction section, wherein the image display device includes (B-1) an image generating device, and (B-2) see-through type light guide section which is mounted to the image generating device, on which beams emitted from the image generating device are incident, through which the beams are guided, and from which the beams are emitted toward an observer's pupil.

Claims (33)

1. A display device comprising:

a frame;

an image display device;

an image sensing device; and

a correction section,

wherein the image display device includes:

an image generating device; and

an optical device which is configured to guide light from the image generating device;

wherein the correction section stores correction data including reference distance data corresponding to a predetermined range between the image sensing device and a reference object, the predetermined range between the image sensing device and the reference object being one of a plurality of predetermined ranges,

wherein the correction section corrects sensed image data obtained by the image sensing device on the basis of the correction data and a distance setting corresponding to a predetermined range between the image sensing device and an object other than the reference object, the predetermined range between the image sensing device and the object other than the reference object being one of the plurality of predetermined ranges, and

wherein the correction section performs a processing such that a color of a reference image, which is outputted from the image generating device on the basis of reference sensed image data obtained through sensing an image of the reference object by the image sensing device and which is generated in the optical device, is made to be a different color from a color of the reference object so that an observer can judge whether or not the image of the reference object observed through the optical device and the reference image are put into registration with each other.

2. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein the correction section corrects an image outputted from the image generating device so that an image of the object other than the reference object observed through the optical device and the image outputted from the image generating device on the basis of the sensed image data and generated in the optical device are put into registration with each other.

3. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein the optical device is configured to receive light emitted from the image generating device, and wherein the optical device emits the light toward an observer's pupil.

4. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein the correction section stores correction data obtained for correcting reference sensed image data.

5. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein at a time of calibration the correction section enhances at least a part of a contour of the reference image that is outputted from the image generating device on the basis of the reference sensed image data obtained through sensing an image of the reference object by the image sensing device and which is generated in the optical device so that an observer can judge whether or not an image of the reference object observed through the optical device and the reference image are put into registration with each other.

6. The display device according to claim 5 , wherein the correction section performs a processing such that the image of the reference object observed through the optical device and the reference image which is outputted from the image generating device on the basis of the reference sensed image data obtained through sensing the image of the reference object by the image sensing device and which is generated in the optical device are put into registration with each other by subjecting the reference sensed image data to rotation, scaling, and transfer.

7. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein the correction section subjects the sensed image data to rotation, scaling, and transfer.

8. A display device comprising:

a frame;

an image display device;

an image sensing device; and

a correction section,

wherein the image display device includes:

an image generating device; and

an optical device which is mounted to the image generating device and is configured to guide light from the image generating device;

wherein the correction section stores correction data including reference distance data corresponding to a predetermined range between the image sensing device and a reference object, the predetermined range between the image sensing device and the reference object being one of a plurality of predetermined ranges,

wherein the correction section corrects an image outputted from the image generating device on the basis of the correction data so that an image of an object other than the reference object observed through the optical device and the image outputted from the image generating device on the basis of sensed image data and generated in the optical device are put into registration with each other, and

wherein the correction section performs a processing such that a color of a reference image, which is outputted from the image generating device on the basis of reference sensed image data obtained through sensing an image of the reference object by the image sensing device and which is generated in the optical device, is made to be a different color than a color of the reference object so that an observer can judge whether or not the image of the reference object observed through the optical device and the reference image are put into registration with each other.

9. The display device according to claim 8 , wherein the optical device is configured to receive light emitted from the image generating device, and wherein the optical device emits the light toward an observer's pupil.

10. The display device according to claim 8 , wherein the correction section stores correction data obtained for correcting reference sensed image data.

11. The display device according to claim 8 , wherein at a time of calibration the correction section enhances at least part of a contour of the reference image which is outputted from the image generating device on the basis of the reference sensed image data obtained through sensing the image of the reference object by the image sensing device and which is generated in the optical device so that an observer can judge whether or not the image of the reference object observed through the optical device and the reference image are put into registration with each other.

12. The display device according to claim 8 , wherein the correction section performs a processing such that the image of the reference object observed through the optical device and the reference image which is outputted from the image generating device on the basis of the reference sensed image data obtained through sensing an image of the reference object by the image sensing device and which is generated in the optical device are put into registration with each other by subjecting the reference sensed image data to rotation, scaling, and transfer.
