Abstract

The present invention relates to a medicament delivery device. The medicament delivery device may include an operation member configured to act on a medicament container for expelling a medicament. The device may configured to hold the operation member in a pre-tensioned state. The device may include an activation member configured to interact with the operation member to release it from the pre-tensioned state. The device may further comprise feedback. For example, the feedback may include generating an audible and/or tactile and/or visual signal indicating that the medicament has been completely expelled.

Claims (25)

1. An automatic delivery device comprising:

an automatic delivery device housing;

a stationary container holder fixedly attached to the automatic delivery device housing;

a plunger rod for driving a slidable stopper of a medicament container arranged within the stationary container holder, the plunger rod comprising:

a cylindrical member extending from a distal end to a proximal end,

a first smooth surface provided along an exterior of the cylindrical member, the first smooth surface extending from the distal end to the proximal end of the cylindrical member,

a second surface provided along an interior of the cylindrical member, the second surface configured to contain a plunger rod tension spring,

the proximal end of the cylindrical member configured to operatively engage the slidable stopper of the medicament container arranged in the stationary container holder; and

an activation member coaxially arranged between the stationary container holder and the automatic delivery device housing, the activation member comprising:

a main body configured to extend from a front proximal end to a back distal end,

a tubular portion provided near the front proximal end of the main body of the activation member,

at least two longitudinally extending arms extending away from a distal end of the tubular portion of the main body, and

at least one guiding element provided along at least one of the at least two longitudinally extending arms.

2. The automatic delivery device of claim 1 wherein during an injection state of the automatic delivery device, the at least one guiding element guides the activation member longitudinally to move from a first proximal position to a first distal position against a force created by the activation member spring,

such that distal movement of the activation member releases the plunger rod and the tension spring.

3. The automatic delivery device of claim 1 wherein after an activated state of the automatic delivery device, the at least one guiding element guides the activation member into a locked position.

4. The automatic delivery device of claim 1 wherein the cylindrical member of the plunger rod has a uniform cross-section from the distal end to the proximal end.

5. The automatic delivery device of claim 1 wherein the automatic delivery device housing comprises a tubular member.

6. The automatic delivery device of claim 1 wherein the automatic delivery device housing further comprises a longitudinally shaped window; and

the activation member main body further comprises a slot located between the distal end and the proximal end of the activation member main body,

such that

during an activated state, the window of the automatic delivery device housing and the slot of the activation member allows a user to view the medicament container moving within the automatic delivery device housing from a first position to a second position.

7. The automatic delivery device of claim 1 wherein the cylindrical member of the plunger rod comprises a closed distal end such that during an activated state of the automatic delivery device, distal movement of the activation member releases the plunger rod so that the tension spring acts on the closed distal end of the plunger rod to drive the plunger rod proximally.

8. The activation member of claim 1 wherein after an injection state, a lock of the automatic delivery device interactively connects to the activation member so that the activation member remains in a locked position.

9. The activation member of claim 8 wherein the lock comprises a flexible tongue of the automatic delivery device, the flexible tongue configured to lock a radially inward extending protrusion of the activation member when the radially inward extending protrusion is moved over the flexible tongue of the automatic delivery device.
