Abstract

In one embodiment, an MRI apparatus, which is wirelessly connected to a wireless RF coil equipped with a plurality of coil elements, includes memory circuitry configured to store at least one program and processing circuitry configured, by executing the at least one program, to (a) set an imaging region of an object, (b) identify a position of each of the plurality of coil elements included in the wireless RF coil based on a signal obtained by radio communication with the wireless RF coil, and (c) select at least one of the plurality of coil elements with respect to three axes, based on positional relationship between the imaging region and the position of each of the plurality of coil elements.

Claims (23)

1. A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus, comprising:

a wireless radio frequency (RF) coil equipped with a plurality of coil elements;

a memory storing at least one program; and

processing circuitry configured to, by executing the at least one program,

set an imaging region of an object,

identify a position of each of the plurality of coil elements included in the wireless RF coil, based on a signal obtained by radio communication with the wireless RF coil, and

select at least one coil element out of the plurality of coil elements, based on receiving a sensitivity of each of the plurality of coil elements, which is estimated based on a distance between the imaging region and the identified position of each of the plurality of coil elements.

2. The magnetic resonance imaging apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising a plurality of radio communication circuits positioned apart from each other,

wherein each of the plurality of radio communication circuits is configured to wirelessly transmit a scanning signal to the wireless RF coil and wirelessly receive a response signal in response to the scanning signal, from the wireless RF coil; and

the processing circuitry is further configured to identify the position of each of the plurality of coil elements, based on the response signal received by each of the plurality of radio communication circuits.

3. The magnetic resonance imaging apparatus according to claim 1 ,

wherein the processing circuitry is further configured to select at least one coil element out of the plurality of coil elements, based on receiving the sensitivity of each of the plurality of coil elements, which is estimated based on (a) a size of each of the plurality of coil elements, and (b) the distance between the imaging region and each of the plurality of coil elements.

4. A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus, comprising:

a wireless radio frequency (RF) coil equipped with a plurality of coil elements;

a memory storing at least one program; and

processing circuitry configured to, by executing the at least one program,

set an imaging region of an object,

identify a position of each of the plurality of coil elements included in the wireless RF coil, based on a signal obtained by radio communication with the wireless RF coil,

preliminarily determine a number of coil elements to be selected out of the plurality of coil elements, based on an imaging condition, and

select the preliminarily determined number of coil elements out of the plurality of coil elements, in order of increasing distance from the imaging region.

5. The magnetic resonance imaging apparatus according to claim 4 , wherein the imaging condition is a combination of RF coils.

6. The magnetic resonance imaging apparatus according to claim 4 , wherein the imaging condition is a type of pulse sequence.

7. The magnetic resonance imaging apparatus according to claim 4 , wherein the imaging condition is an imaging part.
