Abstract

Systems and methods are provided for removing interference from received signals. An interference control signal may be generated in a transceiver during transmission and reception of signals. The interference control signal may be generated based on a first interference control input corresponding to an input signal used in generating the transmitted signals, and a second interference control input corresponding to a model of a leakage of the transmitted signals onto the received signals. The model may be based on a first approximation of a transfer function for the leakage. The interference control signal may be combined with an intermediate signal generated during processing of the received signals, to generate a corresponding combined signal, and the combined signal may be applied during processing of the received signals.

Claims (42)

3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the interference control section comprises one or more adaptive filters operable to apply filtering during generation of the interference control signal.

4. The system of claim 3 , wherein each one of the one or more adaptive filters comprises a plurality of weighting circuits, each of the weighting circuits comprising an output, where a sum of the signals output by the plurality of weighting circuits is the interference control signal.

5. The system of claim 3 , wherein the interference control section comprises a coefficient adaptation circuit that is operable to determine one or more coefficients for the one or more adaptive filters.

6. The system of claim 5 , wherein each one of the one or more adaptive filters comprises a weight setting register coupled to one or more outputs of the coefficient adaptation circuit, the weight setting register being configured to store one or more coefficients received from the coefficient adaption circuit.

7. The system of claim 3 , wherein the one or more adaptive filters are operable to continuously track characteristics of signals of the transmit section that leak into the receive section.

8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the interference control section further comprises an upconverter operable to upconvert the first interference control input to a same frequency as a transmit interference signal leaked into the receive section.

9. The system of claim 1 , comprising a diplexer coupled to an output of the transmit section and an input of the receive section, wherein the model of the leakage is based on a first leakage through the diplexer.

10. The system of claim 1 , wherein the interference control section is operable to:

track transmit power; and

provide a control signal to adjust amplitude of the interference control signal to speed up the response of the interference control section.

11. A method, comprising:

in a transceiver:

transmitting signals;

receiving signals;

generating an interference control signal based on:

a first interference control input corresponding to an input signal used in generating transmitted signals; and

a second interference control input corresponding to a model of a leakage of the transmitted signals onto received signals, wherein the model is based on a first approximation of a transfer function for the leakage;
