Abstract

Methods, apparatuses, and techniques for security and/or automation systems are described. In one embodiment, the method including identifying a presence of a first person at a first location, capturing a first video related to the first person at the first location, and initiating an adjustment of a display of the first video based at least in part on identifying the presence of the first person.

Claims (54)

1. A method for a home automation system, comprising:

identifying a presence of a first person at a first location by a sensor coupled with a camera;

capturing, by the camera, a video related to the first person at the first location based at least in part on the identifying;

determining the first person is creating an audible noise;

initiating, by the camera, an automatic adjustment of a display frame of the video to include an image of the first person creating the audible noise based at least in part on the determining, the camera having a first field of view covering the first person and a first respective coverage area proximate to the first person at the first location; and

adjusting the display frame by adjusting the first field of view of the camera to a second field of view based at least in part on the first person creating the audible noise and a second person creating an audible noise for a period satisfying a temporal threshold and different from the audible noise created by the first person, the second field of view covering the first person, the second person, and a second respective coverage area proximate to the first person and the second person at the first location, wherein the second respective coverage area is greater than the first respective coverage area.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein identifying the presence of the first person further comprises identifying the first person is located within an indoor room.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein adjusting the video occurs during a video call.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein adjusting the video further comprises adjusting a digital zoom level of the video such that an image of the first person comprises a pre-determined percentage of an area of a display.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein adjusting the digital zoom level further comprises scaling the image of the first person using an interpolation algorithm.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein adjusting the video further comprises:

receiving data indicating a quality of the video; and

wherein initiating the adjustment further comprises adjusting the quality of the video.

7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

comparing a first portion of the video and a second portion of the video;

determining that a section of the video is backlit based at least in part on the comparing;

wherein initiating the adjustment comprises adjusting a focus on the first person based at least in part on the determining the section of the video is backlit.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein capturing the video related to the first person further comprises:

identifying a second presence of the second person at a second location by the sensor coupled with the camera.

9. The method of claim 8 , further comprising:

determining that the second person is creating a second audible noise different from the audible noise created by the first person; and

adjusting the video to include an image of the second person.

10. The method of claim 8 , further comprising:

adjusting the video to include an image of the first person or the second person, or both based at least in part on a user preference.

11. The method of claim 8 , wherein the first location or the second location, or both are within an indoor room.

12. The method of claim 1 , wherein capturing the video further comprises:

tracking a movement of the first person within a room; and

capturing the movement of the first person as at least part of the video.

13. The method of claim 1 , wherein identifying the presence of the first person comprises:

identifying the first person based at least in part on the video.

14. The method of claim 1 , wherein identifying the presence of the first person comprises:

identifying the first person based at least in part on comparing biometric data associated with the first person and a user profile.

15. The method of claim 14 , wherein identifying the first person further comprises:

identifying the first person by a voice identification.

16. The method of claim 14 , wherein identifying the first person further comprises:

identifying the first person by a facial recognition.

17. An apparatus for security and/or automation systems, comprising:

a processor;

memory in electronic communication with the processor; and

instructions stored in the memory and executable by the processor to cause the apparatus to:

identify a presence of a first person at a first location;

capture a video related to the first person at the first location based at least in part on the identification;

determine the first person is creating an audible noise;

initiate an automatic adjustment of a display frame of the video to include an image of the first person creating the audible noise based at least in part on the determining, the apparatus having a first field of view covering the first person and a first respective coverage area proximate to the first person at the first location; and

adjust the display frame by adjusting the first field of view of the camera to a second field of view based at least in part on the first person creating the audible noise and a second person creating an audible noise for a period satisfying a temporal threshold and different from the audible noise created by the first person, the second field of view covering the first person, the second person, and a second respective coverage area proximate to the first person and the second person at the first location, wherein the second respective coverage area is greater than the first respective coverage area.

18. The apparatus of claim 17 , wherein the instructions for capturing the video are further executable by the processor to cause the apparatus to:

identify a second presence of the second person at a second location

determine the second person is creating the audible noise different from the audible noise created by the first person.

19. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing code, the code comprising instructions executable to:

identify a presence of a first person at a first location;

capture, by a camera, a video related to the first person at the first location based at least in part on the identification;

determine the first person is creating an audible noise;

initiate, by the camera, an automatic adjustment of a display frame of the video to include an image of the first person creating the audible noise based at least in part on the determining, the camera having a first field of view covering the first person and a first respective coverage area proximate to the first person at the first location; and

adjust, by the camera, the display frame by adjusting the first field of view of the camera to a second field of view based at least in part on the first person creating the audible noise and a second person creating an audible noise for a period satisfying a temporal threshold and different from the audible noise created by the first person, the second field of view covering the first person, the second person, and a second respective coverage area proximate to the first person and the second person at the first location, wherein the second respective coverage area is greater than the first respective coverage area.
