Abstract

A zoom lens comprises in order from an object side, a first lens unit having a positive refractive power, a second lens unit having a negative refractive power, and a third lens unit having a positive refractive power, and the third unit having a positive refractive power comprises in order from the object side, a first lens component having a positive refractive power, and a second lens component having a negative refractive power in which, a lens having a positive refractive power and a lens having a negative refractive power are cemented, and the zoom lens satisfies the following conditional expressions (1), (2), and (3) 1.4<| f 3 _ 2p /f 3 _ 2n |<2.6  (1) n d3 _ 2p −n d3 _ 2n ≥0  (2) n d3 _ 2n ≥1.8  (3).

Claims (60)

1. A zoom lens comprising in order from an object side:

a first lens unit having a positive refractive power;

a second lens unit having a negative refractive power; and

a third lens unit having a positive refractive power, wherein

the third lens unit having a positive refractive power comprises in order from the object side,

a first lens component having a positive refractive power,

a second lens component having a negative refractive power in which, a lens having a positive refractive power and a lens having a negative refractive power are cemented, and

a third lens component, and

the zoom lens satisfies the following conditional expressions (2a), (4), (8), and (11)

where,

n d3 _ 2p denotes a refractive index for a d-line of the lens having a positive refractive power, in the second lens component having a negative refractive power, in the third lens unit having a positive refractive power,

n d3 _ 2n denotes a refractive index for the d-line of the lens having a negative refractive power, in the second lens component having a negative refractive power, in the third lens unit having a positive refractive power,

Σd 3G denotes a total length (not including an aperture) of the third lens unit,

f t denotes a focal length at a telephoto end of the overall zoom lens system,

f 3 denotes a focal length of the third lens unit,

f w denotes a focal length at a wide angle end of an overall zoom lens system,

β 2t denotes a lateral magnification at a telephoto end of the second lens unit,

β 2w denotes a lateral magnification at a wide angle end of the second lens unit,

β 3t denotes a lateral magnification at the telephoto end of the third lens unit, and

β 3w denotes a lateral magnification at the wide angle end of the third lens unit.

2. The zoom lens according to claim 1 , wherein the zoom lens satisfies the following conditional expression (5)

0.6<| f 3 _ 1 /f 3 |<1.2  (5)

where,

f 3 _ 1 denotes a focal length of the first lens component having a positive refractive power, in the third lens unit, and

f 3 denotes a focal length of the third lens unit.

3. The zoom lens according to claim 1 , wherein the zoom lens satisfies the following conditional expression (6)

0.7<| f 3 _ 2 /f 3 |<3  (6)

where,

f 3 _ 2 denotes a focal length of the second lens component having a negative refractive power, in the third lens unit, and

f 3 denotes a focal length of the third lens unit.

4. The zoom lens according to claim 1 , wherein the zoom lens satisfies the following conditional expression (7)

where,

f 3 _ 1 denotes a focal length of the first lens component having a positive refractive power, in the third lens unit, and

f 3 _ 2 denotes a focal length of the second lens component having a negative refractive power in the third lens unit.

5. The zoom lens according to claim 1 , wherein the zoom lens satisfies the following conditional expression (9)

where,

L t denotes a total length at a telephoto end of the overall zoom lens system, and

f t denotes a focal length at the telephoto end of the overall zoom lens system.

6. The zoom lens according to claim 1 , wherein the zoom lens satisfies the following conditional expression (10)

where,

n d3 _ 2p denotes the refractive index for the d-line of the lens having a positive refractive power, in the second lens component having a negative refractive power, in the third lens unit having a positive refractive power.

7. The zoom lens according to claim 1 , wherein the zoom lens satisfies the following conditional expression (3)

n d3 _ 2n ≥1.8  (3)

where,

n d3 _ 2n denotes the refractive index for the d-line of the lens having a negative refractive power, in the second lens component having a negative refractive power, in the third lens unit having a positive refractive power.

8. The zoom lens according to claim 1 , wherein the zoom lens satisfies the following conditional expression (1)

1.4<| f 3 _ 2p /f 3 _ 2n |<2.6  (1)

where,

f 3 _ 2p denotes a focal length of the lens having a positive refractive power, in the second lens component having a negative refractive power, in the third lens unit having a positive refractive power, and

f 3 _ 2n denotes a focal length of the lens having a negative refractive power in the second lens component having a negative refractive power in the third lens unit having a positive refractive power.

9. An image pickup apparatus comprising:

a zoom lens according to claim 1 ; and

an image pickup element which is disposed on an image side of the zoom lens, and which has an image pickup surface which receives an image by the zoom lens.
