Abstract

Methods and systems are provided for reconstructing bands in received signals. A first band in a received multiband signal may be reconstructed, during processing of the multiband signal, when the first band is self-aliased during sampling of a second band. The reconstructing may comprise generating a plurality of components corresponding to the first band, based on the sampling of the second band, and combining the plurality of components to reconstruct the first band. Generating a first component may comprise applying high-pass filtering and/or decimation to an input corresponding to an output of the sampling of the second band. Generating a second component may comprise applying low-pass filtering and/or re-sampling to an input corresponding to an output of the sampling of the second band. An adjustment may be applied, when generating the second component, based on sampling of the first band. The adjustment may comprise a subtraction from sampling output.

Claims (38)

1. A system, comprising:

one or more circuits for use in a signal receiver to reconstruct a first band in a received multiband signal, wherein the first band is self-aliased during sampling of a second band, the one or more circuits being operable to:

generate a plurality of components corresponding to the first band based on the sampling of the second band; and

combine the plurality of components to reconstruct the first band.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more circuits are operable to apply, when generating a first one of the plurality of components, high-pass filtering to an input corresponding to an output of the sampling of the second band.

3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more circuits are operable to apply, when generating a first one of the plurality of components, decimation to an input corresponding to an output of the sampling of the second band.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more circuits are operable to apply, when generating a second one of the plurality of components, low-pass filtering to an input corresponding to an output of the sampling of the second band.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more circuits are operable to apply, when generating a second one of the plurality of components, re-sampling to an input corresponding to an output of the sampling of the second band.

6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more circuits are operable to apply, when generating a second one of the plurality of components, an adjustment based on sampling of the first band.

7. The system of claim 6 , wherein the adjustment comprises subtracting from an input corresponding to an output of the sampling of the first band, an input corresponding to intermediate output, during said generating said second one of the plurality of components.

8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more circuits are operable to disable reconstructing the first band when sampling of the second band does not cause self-aliasing of the first band.

9. A method, comprising:

in a signal receiver, during processing of a received multiband signal:

generating a plurality of components corresponding to a first band in the multiband signal, wherein:

the plurality of components is generated based on sampling of a second band, and

the first band is self-aliased due to the sampling of the second band; and

reconstructing the first band, without self-aliasing, based on combining of the plurality of components.

10. The method of claim 9 , comprising applying, when generating a first one of the plurality of components, high-pass filtering to an input corresponding to an output of the sampling of the second band.

11. The method of claim 9 , comprising applying, when generating a first one of the plurality of components, decimation to an input corresponding to an output of the sampling of the second band.

12. The method of claim 9 , comprising applying, when generating a second one of the plurality of components, low-pass filtering to an input corresponding to an output of the sampling of the second band.

13. The method of claim 9 , comprising applying, when generating a second one of the plurality of components, re-sampling to an input corresponding to an output of the sampling of the second band.

14. The method of claim 9 , comprising applying, when generating a second one of the plurality of components, an adjustment based on sampling of the first band.

15. The method of claim 14 , wherein the adjustment comprises subtracting from an input corresponding to an output of the sampling of the first band, an input corresponding to intermediate output, during said generating said second one of the plurality of components.

16. The method of claim 9 , comprising disabling reconstructing the first band when sampling of the second band does not cause self-aliasing of the first band.

17. A system, comprising:

a signal reconstruction component that comprises:

a plurality of component processing paths, wherein:

each of the plurality of processing paths is operable to generate a respective one of a plurality of a plurality of components corresponding to a first band in a multiband signal,

the plurality of components is generated based on sampling of a second band in the multiband signal, and

the first band is self-aliased due to the sampling of the second band; and

a combiner that is operable to combine the plurality of components to reconstruct the first band.

18. The system of claim 17 , wherein a first one of the plurality of component processing paths comprises:

a high-pass filter circuit that is operable to apply high-pass filtering to an input corresponding to an output of the sampling of the second band; and

a decimator circuit that is operable to apply decimation to an input corresponding to an output of the high-pass filter circuit.

19. The system of claim 17 , wherein a second one of the plurality of component processing paths comprises:
