Abstract

The present invention relates to a shell assembly for a medicament delivery device, which shell assembly comprises at least one first shell section provided with an entry passage and designed such that at least a major part of a medicament delivery device entered through said entry passage is accommodated inside said at least one first shell section, a closure element operably arranged to said at least one first shell section for closing said entry passage, and fixation elements arranged for fixating said medicament delivery device in relation to said at least one first shell section and said closure element.

Claims (28)

1. A shell assembly for a medicament delivery device, the medicament delivery device having a delivery device housing that encloses and holds a separate medicament container containing a volume of medicament, where an outside wall of the medicament container is positioned adjacent to an inside surface of the delivery device housing or inside of a medicament container holder, and where a proximal end of the outside wall or a proximal end of the medicament container holder has attached a medicament delivery member that is covered by a proximal end of the medicament delivery device and that allows expulsion of medicament from the medicament container, which shell assembly comprises

at least one first shell section having an inside surface and provided with an entry passage and designed such that at least a major part of the delivery device housing entered through said entry passage is accommodated inside said at least one first shell section,

a closure element comprising a passage through which a proximal end of the medicament delivery member can protrude, where the closure element is operably arranged to said at least one first shell section for closing said entry passage,

a protective cap removably attached to the at least one first shell section or closure element; and

fixation elements arranged on the inside surface of the at least one shell section for fixating said medicament delivery device in relation to said at least one first shell section such that the fixation elements engage an outer surface of the delivery device housing preventing rotation of the medicament delivery device relative to the at least one shell section and said closure element,

wherein when the protective cap is attached to a proximal end of the at least one first shell section or to a proximal end of the closure element, where the proximal end of the medicament delivery device and the medicament delivery member is completely covered and enclosed within the cap.

2. The shell assembly according to claim 1 , further comprising first attachment elements operably arranged to lock said closure element to said first shell.

3. The shell assembly according to claim 2 , wherein said first attachment elements are arranged releasable.

4. The shell assembly according to claim 3 , wherein said first attachment elements comprise any of threads, bayonet connection, snap-in elements.

5. The shell assembly according to claim 2 , wherein said first attachment elements are arranged non-releasable.

6. The shell assembly according to claim 2 , further comprising second attachment elements operably arranged to lock said closure element to said medicament delivery device.

7. The shell assembly according to claim 6 , wherein said second attachment elements are arranged releasable.

8. The shell assembly according to claim 7 , wherein said second attachment elements comprise any of threads, bayonet connection, snap-in elements.

9. The shell assembly according to claim 6 , wherein said second attachment elements are arranged non-releasable.

10. The shell assembly according to claim 1 , wherein said closure element comprises a second shell section.

11. The shell assembly according to claim 10 , wherein said at least first and said second shell sections comprise third attachment elements operably arranged to connect the shell sections to each other.

12. The shell assembly according to claim 11 , wherein said third attachment elements comprise snap-in elements.

13. The shell assembly according to claim 11 , wherein said third attachment elements are arranged non-releasable.

14. The shell assembly according to claim 10 , wherein said at least first and said second shell sections comprise joints operably arranged to movably connect the shell sections such as to open and/or close a shell, which shell comprises the first and the second shell sections.

15. The shell assembly according to claim 14 , wherein said joints comprise hinges.

16. The shell assembly according to claim 14 , wherein said joints comprise flexible bridges.

17. The shell assembly according to claim 1 , wherein said closure element is integral with said medicament delivery device.

18. The shell assembly according to claim 17 , further comprising first attachment elements operably arranged to lock said closure element and thereby said medicament delivery device to said first shell section.

19. The shell assembly according to claim 18 , wherein said first attachment elements are arranged releasable.

20. The shell assembly according to claim 18 , wherein said first attachment elements are arranged non-releasable.

21. A medicament delivery device comprising of a shell assembly according to claim 1 .

22. The shell assembly according to claim 1 , wherein the fixation elements prevent linear movement of the medical delivery device.

23. The shell assembly according to claim 1 , wherein the at least one first shell section further comprises an opening that aligns with cut-outs in the delivery device housing such that the outside wall of the medicament container and the volume of medicament is visible in the medicament in the medicament container and can be viewed by a user.
