Abstract

Apparatuses, techniques, and methods for a security and/or automation system are described. In some cases, these may include a first user recording a message and the message being broadcast or conveyed to a second user based on the second user's identity and/or location and/or a relevant time of recording or broadcasting, among other things. The methods may include receiving a first communication from a first user, storing the first communication in memory, identifying a second user at a first location, retrieving the first communication from memory, the retrieving based at least in part on the identification of the second user, and conveying the first communication to the second user at the first location.

Claims (76)

1. A method for security or automation, comprising:

receiving, via a transceiver of a control panel at a first location, a first electronic communication from a first user;

determining, via the control panel, context data of the first electronic communication;

identifying, via the control panel, a time to convey the first electronic communication to an intended recipient based at least in part on the context data;

automatically assigning, via the control panel, a priority level of the first electronic communication based at least in part on the context data and the identified time;

storing, via the control panel, the first electronic communication in memory associated with the control panel;

detecting, via the control panel, a presence of a second user within a predetermined distance of the control panel based at least in part on received sensor data from at least one sensor;

identifying, via the control panel, the second user at the first location based at least in part on the detecting;

retrieving, via the control panel, the first electronic communication from memory, the retrieving based at least in part on the identification of the second user and the priority level of the first electronic communication; and

conveying, via the transceiver of the control panel, the first electronic communication to the second user at the first location using at least one telecommunications network protocol.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the conveying comprises:

broadcasting the first electronic communication to the second user.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the conveying comprises:

transmitting the first electronic communication to the second user.

4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining whether the second user received the first electronic communication; and

conveying the first electronic communication to the second user at a second location based at least in part on whether the second user received the first electronic communication.

5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining if the second user is one of a group of intended recipients based at least in part on a characteristic of the first electronic communication and received sensor data from the at least one sensor, the group of intended recipients comprising the second user and a third user; and

conveying the first electronic communication to the second user based at least in part on determining if the second user is one of the group of intended recipients.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein identifying the second user comprises:

receiving biometric information associated with the second user from the at least one sensor; and

analyzing the received biometric information.

7. The method of claim 6 , wherein receiving biometric information comprises:

receiving at least one of facial recognition data, or retinal data, or fingerprint data, or voice data, or electronic device data associated with the second user, or radio frequency data, or personal identification data associated with the second user, or a combination thereof.

8. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving an alphanumeric identifier input by the first user; and

identifying the second user at the first location based at least in part on the received alphanumeric identifier.

9. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving an audio identifier input by the first user; and

identifying the second user at the first location based at least in part on the received audio identifier.

10. The method of claim 1 , wherein conveying the first electronic communication is further based at least in part on determining if the second user is located at the first location during a predetermined time period; and

conveying the first electronic communication during the predetermined time period based at least in part on determining if the second user is located at the first location during the predetermined time period.

11. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving a second electronic communication at the first location; and

transmitting the second electronic communication to a remote device.

12. The method of claim 11 , wherein transmitting the second electronic communication to the remote device is based at least in part on identifying a fourth user associated with the remote device.

13. The method of claim 12 , wherein identifying the fourth user comprises:

determining the first user and the fourth user are synonymous.

14. The method of claim 12 , wherein identifying the fourth user is based at least in part on receiving an identifier associated with the fourth user.

15. An apparatus for security or automation comprising:

a processor;

memory in electronic communication with the processor;

a wireless communication interface coupled to the processor;

instructions stored in the memory, the instructions cause the processor to:

receive, via a transceiver of the apparatus, a first electronic communication from a first user;

determine context data of the first electronic communication;

identify a time to convey the first electronic communication to an intended recipient based at least in part on the context data;

automatically assign a priority level of the first electronic communication based at least in part on the context data and the identified time;

store the first electronic communication in memory of the apparatus;

detect a presence of a second user within a predetermined distance of the apparatus located at a first location based at least in part on received sensor data from at least one sensor;

identify the second user at the first location based at least in part on the detecting;

retrieve the first electronic communication from memory, the retrieving based at least in part on the identification of the second user and the priority level of the first electronic communication; and

convey, via the transceiver of the apparatus, the first electronic communication to the second user at the first location using at least one telecommunications network protocol.

16. The apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the instructions further cause the processor to:

determine whether the second user received the first electronic communication; and

convey the first electronic communication to the second user at a second location based at least in part on whether the second user received the first electronic communication.

17. The apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the instructions further cause the processor to:

determine if the second user is one of a group of intended recipients based at least in part on a characteristic of the first electronic communication and received sensor data from the at least one sensor, the group of intended recipients comprising the second user and a third user; and

convey the first electronic communication to the second user based at least in part on determining if the second user is one of the group of intended recipients.

18. The apparatus of claim 15 , wherein when the processor conveys the first electronic communication, the instructions further cause the processor to:

determine if the second user is located at the first location during a predetermined time period; and

convey the first electronic communication during the predetermined time period based at least in part on determining if the second user is located at the first location during the predetermined time period.

19. The apparatus of claim 15 , wherein when the processor identifies the second user, the instructions further cause the processor to:

receive biometric information associated with the second user from the at least one sensor; and

analyze the received biometric information.

20. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing a program that, when executed by a processor, causes the processor to:

receive, via a transceiver of a control panel, a first electronic communication from a first user;

determine, via the control panel, context data of the first electronic communication;

identify, via the control panel, a time to convey the first electronic communication to an intended recipient based at least in part on the context data;
