Abstract

A system for determining a communication charge comprising a charging equation determiner, an inflection point determiner, and a charge determiner. The charging equation determiner for determining a charging equation based at least in part on a normalized set of inputs. The inflection point determiner for determining an inflection point based at least in part on a charging structure database. The charge determiner for determining a communication charge based at least in part on the charging equation and the inflection point.

Claims (38)

1. A system for determining connection authorization, comprising:

a processor configured to:

receive a request for a connection;

receive a set of inputs;

determine whether to authorize the connection based at least in part on the set of inputs;

in the event that the connection is authorized:

receive a dynamically updated set of inputs; and

determine whether 1) an inflection point is reached based at least in part on the dynamically updated set of inputs or 2) a disconnect request is received; and

in the event that the inflection point is reached, determine whether the connection is to be reauthorized; and

a memory coupled to the processor and configured to provide the processor with instructions.

2. The system as in claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to provide an indication authorizing the connection in the event that it is determined to authorize the connection.

3. The system as in claim 2 , wherein authorizing the connection comprises allowing the connection to a network.

4. The system as in claim 2 , wherein the indication authorizing the connection comprises an indication of a quantity approved.

5. The system as in claim 4 , wherein the quantity approved comprises one or more of the following: a quantity of minutes, a quantity of text messages, or a quantity of bytes.

6. The system as in claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to normalize the set of inputs.

7. The system as in claim 6 , wherein the processor is further configured to determine a charging equation based at least in part on the set of inputs that has been normalized.

8. The system as in claim 7 , wherein the processor is further configured to determine one or more inflection points based at least in part on the charging equation.

9. The system as in claim 8 , wherein the inflection point is one of the one or more inflection points.

10. The system as in claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to determine an updated charging equation based at least in part on the dynamically updated set of inputs.

11. The system as in claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to indicate that the connection is to be disconnected in the event that the disconnect request is received.

12. The system as in claim 11 , wherein the connection is disconnected by not allowing the connection to a network.

13. The system as in claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to indicate that the connection is to be disconnected in the event that it is determined that the connection is not to be reauthorized.

14. A method for determining connection authorization, comprising:

receiving a request for a connection;

receiving a set of inputs;

determining, using a processor, whether to authorize the connection based at least in part on the set of inputs;

in the event that the connection is authorized:

receiving a dynamically updated set of inputs; and

determining whether 1) an inflection point is reached based at least in part on the dynamically updated set of inputs or 2) a disconnect request is received; and

in the event that the inflection point is reached, determining whether the connection is to be reauthorized.

15. A computer program product for determining connection authorization, the computer program product being embodied in a tangible non-transitory computer readable storage medium and comprising computer instructions for:

receiving a request for a connection;

receiving a set of inputs;

determining, using a processor, whether to authorize the connection based at least in part on the set of inputs;

in the event that the connection is authorized:

receiving a dynamically updated set of inputs; and

determining whether 1) an inflection point is reached based at least in part on the dynamically updated set of inputs or 2) a disconnect request is received; and

in the event that the inflection point is reached, determining whether the connection is to be reauthorized.
