Abstract

A textured wipe is provided that includes a non-woven or woven cotton wipe sheet, and in some embodiments a plurality of beads and/or a coating. The cotton wipe sheet has a wipe surface and an opposing back surface. The plurality of beads is adhered to the wipe surface. Each bead is formed to have a three dimensional geometry that extends outwardly from the wipe surface.

Claims (50)

1 . A textured wipe, comprising:

a nonwoven 100% cotton wipe sheet having a wipe surface and an opposing back surface;

a plurality of solid beads; and

a 100% cotton backer sheet attached to the back surface of the cotton wipe sheet such that the cotton backer sheet is in contact with the back surface of the cotton wipe sheet, wherein

the beads each have a base surface contiguous with the wipe surface and adhered to the wipe surface,

the beads each have a three dimensional geometry that extends outwardly from the wipe surface, and

the beads include a thermoplastic material.

2 . The textured wipe of claim 1 , wherein the solid beads include a puffing agent that forms a gas when exposed to an elevated temperature thereby causing the respective protrusions to rise and provide three dimensional geometry.

3 . The textured wipe of claim 1 , wherein the thermoplastic material is selected from the group consisting of polypropylene, polyethylene, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, polyamide, polyethylene terephthalate, polyvinyl chloride, or copolymers thereof.

4 . The textured wipe of claim 1 , wherein a diameter of the textured wipe is approximately 5 cm.

5 . The textured wipe of claim 1 , wherein a height of the solid beads is respectively in the range of 0.020 to 0.040 inches.

6 . The textured wipe of claim 1 , wherein a diameter of the solid beads is respectively 0.040 to 0.60 inches at the base surface.

7 . The textured wipe of claim 1 , wherein

the base surface has a surface area,

the beads each include a contact surface having a surface area and at least one side wall surface extending between the base surface and the contact surface, and

the surface area of the base surface is greater than the surface area of the contact surface.

8 . The textured wipe of claim 1 , wherein the beads each have a truncated conical shape.

9 . The textured wipe of claim 1 , wherein the beads include abrasive particles.

10 . The textured wipe of claim 1 , further comprising a coating adhered to the wipe surface of the cotton wipe sheet, the coating including an acrylic binder.

11 . The textured wipe of claim 10 , wherein the coating includes one or more of a skin cleaning agent, a medicinal agent, an exfoliating agent, and a soap material.

12 . The textured wipe of claim 11 , wherein the exfoliating agent includes abrasive particles.

13 . The textured wipe of claim 1 , wherein the beads include an acrylic.

14 . A method of cleansing, comprising:

providing a textured wipe, the textured wipe including

a nonwoven cotton wipe sheet having a wipe surface and an opposing back surface;

a plurality of solid beads; and

a cotton backer sheet attached to the back surface of the cotton wipe sheet such that the cotton backer sheet is in contact with the back surface of the cotton wipe sheet, wherein

the beads each have a base surface contiguous with the wipe surface and adhered to the wipe surface,

the beads each have a three dimensional geometry that extends outwardly from the wipe surface, and

the beads include a thermoplastic material; and

applying the textured wipe to a surface to cleanse.

15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein a coating adhered to the wipe surface includes one or more of a skin cleaning agent, a medicinal agent, an exfoliating agent, and a soap material.

16 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the thermoplastic material is selected from the group consisting of polypropylene, polyethylene, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, polyamide, polyethylene terephthalate, polyvinyl chloride, or copolymers thereof.

17 . The method of claim 14 , wherein a diameter of the textured wipe is approximately 5 cm.

18 . The method of claim 14 , wherein a height of the solid beads is respectively in the range of 0.020 to 0.040 inches.

19 . The method of claim 14 , wherein a diameter of the solid beads is respectively 0.040 to 0.60 inches at the base surface.

20 . A method of removing makeup, comprising:

providing a textured wipe, the textured wipe including

a nonwoven cotton wipe sheet having a wipe surface and an opposing back surface;

a plurality of solid beads; and

a cotton backer sheet attached to the back surface of the cotton wipe sheet such that the cotton backer sheet is in contact with the back surface of the cotton wipe sheet, wherein

the beads each have a base surface contiguous with the wipe surface and adhered to the wipe surface,

the beads each have a three dimensional geometry that extends outwardly from the wipe surface, and

the beads include a thermoplastic material; and

wiping the textured wipe against the makeup to remove the makeup.

21 . The method of claim 20 , wherein a coating adhered to the wipe surface includes one or more of a skin cleaning agent, a medicinal agent, an exfoliating agent, and a soap material.

22 . The method of claim 20 , wherein the thermoplastic material is selected from the group consisting of polypropylene, polyethylene, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, polyamide, polyethylene terephthalate, polyvinyl chloride, or copolymers thereof.

23 . The method of claim 20 , wherein a diameter of the textured wipe is approximate 5 cm.

24 . The method of claim 20 , wherein a height of the solid beads is respectively in the range of 0.020 to 0.040 inches.

25 . The method of claim 20 , wherein a diameter of the solid beads is respectively 0.040 to 0.60 inches at the base surface.
