Abstract

Aspects of the present disclosure relate aids for the visually impaired.

Claims (18)

1 . An apparatus, comprising:

a. a head-worn computer including a camera with primary lens;

b. an auxiliary lens attached to the head-worn computer on a flexible mount that provides a use position and a park position; and

c. wherein the auxiliary lens is positioned over the primary lens when in the use position, such that the auxiliary lens and the primary lens share a common optical axis, and the auxiliary lens is positioned outside of the field of view of the primary lens when in the park position.

2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the flexible mount allows the auxiliary lens to flip upward to the parked position and flip downward to the use position.

3 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the flexible mount allows the auxiliary lens move sideways between a use position and a parked position.

4 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the auxiliary lens is a telephoto lens

5 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the auxiliary lens is a wide angle lens.

6 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the auxiliary lens is a zoom lens.

7 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the flexible mount is a removable mount so the auxiliary lens can be attached or detached.

8 . The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the removable mount includes an electrical connection for operating the auxiliary lens.

9 . The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the operating functions of the auxiliary lens include aperture, zoom, exposure or autofocus.

10 . The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the auxiliary lens is an auxiliary camera system including an image sensor.

11 . The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the auxiliary camera system provides improved imaging characteristics compared to the camera in the head-worn computer.

12 . The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the image sensor has larger pixels than an image sensor include in the camera in the head-worn computer.

13 . The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the auxiliary camera system provides higher resolution than the camera in the head-worn computer.

14 . The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the auxiliary camera system provides wide spectrum pixels.

15 . The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the auxiliary camera system provides a lower f# lens or larger aperture lens than the camera in the head-worn computer.
