Abstract

A cable processing machine includes a cable processing station with a cable processing tool. An interface receives from a sensor at least one physical parameter value indicating a capability of the cable processing machine for executing a processing step. A capability determination component determines, based on the physical parameter, that the capability is insufficient. A voice instruction generator component generates voice instructions for an operator, relating to an action to be performed by operator for restoring capability of the cable processing machine to enable the execution of the cable processing step. Voice instructions are audio output generated on wearable audio device associated with operator, and sent to the audio output device. A confirm component receives confirmation that action for restoring the capability of the cable processing machine is complete, and the capability determination component validates restoration of the capability. The cable processing tool executes the processing step if capability is restored.

Claims (18)

1. A cable processing machine ( 100 ) comprising:

at least one cable processing station with at least one cable processing tool (PT 1 , PT 2 ) configured to process a cable or wire;

an interface configured to receive from at least one sensor (S 1 , S 2 , S 3 ) at least one physical parameter value (P 1 , P 2 ), the physical parameter being indicative of a capability of the cable processing machine for executing a cable processing step; and

at least one processor for executing software components stored in a respective memory of the processing machine, and said software components comprising:

a capability determination component ( 110 ) configured to determine, based on the at least one physical parameter (P 1 , P 2 ), that the capability is insufficient for executing the cable processing step;

a voice instruction generator component ( 130 ) configured to generate voice instructions (VI- 1 ) for an operator ( 10 ), the voice instructions (VI- 1 ) related to an action to be performed by the operator ( 10 ) for restoring the capability of the cable processing machine ( 100 ) to enable the execution of the cable processing step, wherein the voice instructions (VI- 1 ) are configured for audio output generation on a particular wearable audio device ( 11 ) associated with the operator ( 10 ), and the voice instruction generator component ( 130 ) being configured to send the generated voice instructions (VI- 1 ) to the particular wearable audio output device ( 11 ); and

a confirm component ( 140 ) to receive a confirmation signal that the action for restoring the capability of the cable processing machine ( 100 ) is completed;

the capability determination component ( 110 ) being further configured to validate whether the capability is restored;

wherein the at least one cable processing tool (PT 1 , PT 2 ) is configured to execute the cable processing step when the capability is restored.

2. The cable processing machine ( 100 ) of claim 1 , wherein the at least one physical parameter to be measured by the at least one sensor is selected from the group of: closure size of a straightener tool, gripper pressure of a gripper tool, strip quality achieved by a stripping tool, and crimp height achieved by a crimp tool.

3. The cable processing machine ( 100 ) of claim 1 , wherein the at least one sensor (S 1 , S 2 ) is an integrated part of the cable processing machine ( 100 ).

4. The cable processing machine ( 100 ) of claim 1 , wherein the at least one physical parameter value (P 1 ) is received via voice commands from an operator.

5. The cable processing machine ( 100 ) of claim 1 , wherein the generated voice instructions are sent to the particular wearable audio device ( 11 ).

6. The cable processing machine ( 100 ) of claim 1 , wherein the confirm component ( 140 ) is configured to receive the confirmation from the operator via voice commands.

7. The cable processing machine ( 100 ) of claim 1 , wherein the confirm component ( 140 ) is configured to receive the confirmation from a wearable sensor device of the operator.

8. The cable processing machine ( 100 ) of claim 7 , wherein the wearable sensor device is part of the particular wearable audio output device ( 11 ).

9. The cable processing machine ( 100 ) of claim 1 , wherein the confirm component ( 140 ) is configured to receive the confirmation from the at least one sensor (S 1 , S 2 , S 3 ).

10. The cable processing machine ( 100 ) of claim 1 , further comprising: a data storage component ( 120 ) configured to store capability restoration data including technical instructions regarding the action to be performed by the operator ( 10 ) wherein the technical instructions are a basis for the generated voice instructions (VI- 1 ).
