Nonaqueous electrolyte for lithium secondary battery and lithium secondary battery employing the same
A nonaqueous electrolyte for a lithium secondary battery, the nonaqueous electrolyte including a fluorine-containing lithium salt, an organic solvent, and an organosilicon compound represented by Formula 1: wherein, in Formula 1, R 1 to R 3 are independently a C 1 -C 10 alkyl group, and n is an integer selected from 1 to 10. Also a lithium secondary battery including the nonaqueous electrolyte.
1. A nonaqueous electrolyte for a lithium secondary battery, the nonaqueous electrolyte consisting of:
a fluorine-containing lithium salt;
an optional additional lithium salt;
an organic solvent consisting of 1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethyl-1H,1H,5H-octafluoropentyl ether, dimethyl carbonate, and fluoroethylene carbonate; and
1.0 weight percent to 5 weight percent of an organosilicon compound represented by Formula 1, based on a total weight of the nonaqueous electrolyte:
wherein, in Formula 1, R 1 to R 3 are each independently a C 1 -C 10 alkyl group, and n is an integer selected from 1 to 10.

The nonaqueous electrolyte of claim 1 , wherein an anion of the fluorine-containing lithium salt comprises F − , BF 4 − , PF 6 − , (CF 3 ) 2 PF 4 − , (CF 3 ) 3 PF 3 − , (CF 3 ) 4 PF 2 − , (CF 3 ) 5 PF − , (CF 3 ) 6 P − , CF 3 SO 3 − , CF 3 CF 2 SO 3 − , (CF 3 SO 2 ) 2 N − , (FSO 2 ) 2 N − , CF 3 CF 2 (CF 3 ) 2 CO − , (CF 3 SO 2 ) 2 CH − , (SF 5 ) 3 C − , (CF 3 SO 2 ) 3 C − , CF 3 (CF 2 ) 7 SO 3 − , CF 3 CO 2 − , (CF 3 CF 2 SO 2 ) 2 N − , or a combination thereof.
3. The nonaqueous electrolyte of claim 1 , wherein an anion of the additional lithium salt comprises Cl − , Br − , F − , NO 3 − , N(CN) 2 − , ClO 4 − , CH 3 CO 2 − , SCN − , or a combination thereof.
4. The nonaqueous electrolyte of claim 1 , comprising 15% by weight of the fluoroethylene carbonate based on a total weight of the nonaqueous electrolyte.
5. The nonaqueous electrolyte of claim 1 , comprising 40% by weight of the 1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethyl-1H,1H,5H-octafluoropentyl based on a total weight of the nonaqueous electrolyte.
6. The nonaqueous electrolyte of claim 1 , wherein the organic solvent comprises 45% by weight of the dimethyl carbonate based on a total weight of the nonaqueous electrolyte.
7. The nonaqueous electrolyte of claim 1 , wherein the nonaqueous electrolyte comprises 43 parts per million hydrogen fluoride.
8. A lithium secondary battery comprising the nonaqueous electrolyte according to claim 1 .
