BROWSING AND QUALITY OF SERVICE FEATURES
Embodiments are configured to provide browsing and other functionality that can be used to provide viewable data based in part on a current viewable space of a browser interface, but the embodiments are not so limited. In an embodiment, components of a system can operate to communicate viewable data to a browser engine based in part on a configuration of the browser engine and/or a display architecture. In one embodiment, a computing device includes a browser application that can be used to provide data associated with viewable portions of a browser display, wherein the provided data can be used to monetize advertising revenue according to monetization and/or advertising requirements.
1 . A handheld device configured to:
request viewable data as part of a browsing operation, wherein the viewable data associated with the request is limited to a current viewable space of a browser interface;
receive the viewable data for display in the current viewable space of the browser interface; and,
communicate quantification data if designated data is included with the viewable data and includes a defined amount of the designated data.
2 . The handheld device of claim 1 , further configured to communicate a billable event based in part on a defined amount of advertisement data included with the designated data.
3 . The handheld device of claim 2 , further configured to communicate the billable event to charge an advertising source.
4 . The handheld device of claim 1 , further configured to use quality of service attributes including distance from an edge, proximity to center of a page, or a defined number of visible pixels to create a billable event.
5 . The handheld device of claim 1 , further configured to use alternative advertisement data if the current viewable space is insufficient to support display of the designated data.
6 . A browser interface configured to:
request browser data associated with a web page, wherein the request is limited to the portions of the web page to be displayed;
determine an advertising charge when a defined amount of an advertisement is included with viewable browser data; and,
communicate a billable event associated with the advertising charge for the defined amount of the advertisement.
7 . The browser interface of claim 6 , further configured to use user input operations in part to determine if the advertisement is recognizable.
8 . The browser interface of claim 6 , further configured to interact with a display subsystem to determine when images are completely or partially rendered.
9 . The browser interface of claim 6 , further configured to interact with a display subsystem to determine when images are completely or partially rendered.
10 . A server configured to:
receive a request for viewable data, wherein the viewable data of the request is limited to a viewable space of a browser interface;
communicate the viewable data; and,
receive quantification data if designated data is included with the viewable data and includes a defined amount of the designated data.
11 . The server of claim 10 , further configured to use a script to dynamically populate height/width layout attributes to assist a browser interface with layout operations.
12 . The server of claim 11 , further configured to use the script to use null or secondary images until a designated image location becomes visible.
