STORING USER GESTURES IN A USER PROFILE DATA TEMPLATE
Methods and systems for a complete vehicle ecosystem are provided. Specifically, systems that when taken alone, or together, provide an individual or group of individuals with an intuitive and comfortable vehicular environment. The present disclosure includes a system to create, modify, and maintain profiles associated with users. The user profiles are generated based on selectively collecting data associated with the users. Although each user profile may include settings, preferences, habits, and content associated with an individual user and/or vehicle, some user profiles may represent multiple users. These user profiles can change a configuration of a vehicle to match settings for a user, such as a driver and/or passenger. The configurations may also include the recognition of a unique set of gestures for a user. Further, the user profiles can be transferred from vehicle-to-vehicle and/or user-to-user.
1 . A method, comprising:
a processor, associated with a conveyance, importing a user profile into memory of the conveyance;
a sensor providing a signal associated with an identification of a user within the conveyance, wherein the user is associated with the user profile;
based on the signal, the processor retrieving the user profile, associated with the user, from the memory, and wherein the user is associated with the vehicle;
the sensor generating a second signal based on a received gesture from the user;
the processor receiving the second signal;
in response to the second signal, the processor referring to the user profile associated with the user for gesture information;
the processor determining that the gesture information includes at least one custom gesture, wherein the at least one custom gesture is associated with a vehicle feature function, wherein the received gesture is a custom gesture;
the processor determining whether a capability of the vehicle associated with the user includes the vehicle feature function;
mapping, in response to determining that the capability of the vehicle includes the vehicle feature function, the custom gesture with the vehicle feature function of the vehicle; and
storing the mapping of the vehicle feature function with the custom gesture as a change to the user profile as associated with the vehicle.
2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
associating the mapped custom gesture with the user of the vehicle; and
associating the mapped custom gesture with the vehicle.
3 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising:
recognizing the user of the vehicle via at least one recognition sensor associated with the vehicle;
providing, in response to recognizing the user, access to the stored mapped custom gesture; and
manipulating the vehicle feature function of the vehicle in response to receiving the custom gesture provided by the user inside the vehicle.
4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
determining that the capability of the vehicle lacks the vehicle feature function; and
sending a message to the user of the vehicle corresponding to the lack of the vehicle feature function.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein determining whether the capability of the vehicle associated with the user includes the vehicle feature function further comprises:
determining an identification type of the vehicle;
referring to a memory having stored thereon at least one vehicle feature associated with the identification type of the vehicle; and
determining whether a match exists between the vehicle feature function and the at least one vehicle feature.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the identification type includes at least one of a vehicle manufacturer, make, year, and model.
7 . The method of claim 5 , further comprising:
determining, when the match exists, whether the matched at least one vehicle feature is associated with an authorization lock, wherein the authorization lock prevents an unauthorized user from accessing the matched at least one vehicle feature, and wherein the authorization lock grants an authorized user access to the matched at least one vehicle feature.
8 . The method of claim 7 , further comprising:
determining, when the matched at least one vehicle feature is associated with the authorization lock, whether the user is the authorized user.
9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein determining whether the user is the authorized user, further comprises:
referring to an authorization memory having authorizing information configured to identify at least one authorized user.
10 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the custom gesture is stored in a memory of the vehicle and/or a cloud storage.
11 . A non-transitory computer readable medium having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by a processor, perform a method comprising:
importing a user profile into memory of the conveyance;
receiving, from a sensor in the conveyance, a signal associated with an identification of a user within the conveyance, wherein the user is associated with the user profile;
based on the signal, retrieving the user profile, associated with the user, from the memory, and wherein the user is associated with the vehicle;
receiving, from the sensor, a second signal based on a received gesture from the user;
in response to the second signal, referring to the user profile associated with the user for gesture information;
determining that the gesture information includes at least one custom gesture, wherein the at least one custom gesture is associated with a vehicle feature function, wherein the received gesture is a custom gesture;
determining whether a capability of the vehicle associated with the user includes the vehicle feature function; and
mapping, in response to determining that the capability of the vehicle includes the vehicle feature function, the custom gesture with the vehicle feature function of the vehicle; and
storing the mapping of the vehicle feature function with the custom gesture as a change to the user profile as associated with the vehicle.
12 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the method further comprises:
associating the mapped custom gesture with the user of the vehicle; and
associating the mapped custom gesture with the vehicle.
13 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 12 , wherein the method further comprises:
recognizing the user of the vehicle via at least one recognition sensor associated with the vehicle;
providing, in response to recognizing the user, access to the stored mapped custom gesture; and
manipulating the vehicle feature function of the vehicle in response to receiving the custom gesture provided by the user inside the vehicle.
14 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the method further comprises:
determining that the capability of the vehicle lacks the vehicle feature function; and
sending a message to the user of the vehicle corresponding to the lack of the vehicle feature function.
15 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 11 , wherein determining whether the capability of the vehicle associated with the user includes the vehicle feature function further comprises:
determining an identification type of the vehicle;
referring to a memory having stored thereon at least one vehicle feature associated with the identification type of the vehicle; and
determining whether a match exists between the vehicle feature function and the at least one vehicle feature.
16 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the identification type includes at least one of a vehicle manufacturer, make, year, and model.
17 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the method further comprises:
determining, when the match exists, whether the matched at least one vehicle feature is associated with an authorization lock, wherein the authorization lock prevents an unauthorized user from accessing the matched at least one vehicle feature, and wherein the authorization lock grants an authorized user access to the matched at least one vehicle feature.
18 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 17 , wherein the method further comprises:
determining, when the matched at least one vehicle feature is associated with the authorization lock, whether the user is the authorized user; and
referring to an authorization memory having authorizing information configured to identify at least one authorized user.
19 . A vehicle control system, associated with a conveyance, comprising:
memory that stores a user profile associated with a user, wherein the user profile is imported into the memory;
a processor in communication with the memory, wherein the processor executes:
a profile identification module contained in the memory, the profile identification module:
receives, from a sensor in the conveyance, a signal associated with an identification of a user within the conveyance, wherein the user is associated with the user profile;
based on the signal, retrieves the user profile, associated with the user, from the memory, and wherein the user is associated with the vehicle;
receives, from the sensor, a second signal based on a received gesture from the user;
in response to the second signal, refers to a the user profile memory associated with a the user for gesture information;
determines that the gesture information includes at least one custom gesture, wherein the at least one custom gesture is associated with a vehicle feature function, wherein the received gesture is a custom gesture;
determines whether a capability of a the vehicle associated with the user includes the vehicle feature function; and
maps, in response to determining that the capability of the vehicle includes the vehicle feature function, the custom gesture with the vehicle feature function of the vehicle; and
stores the mapping of the vehicle feature function with the custom gesture as a change to the user profile as associated with the vehicle.
20 . The system of claim 19 , wherein the profile identification module further:
determines that the capability of the vehicle lacks the vehicle feature function; and
sends a message to the user of the vehicle corresponding to the lack of the vehicle feature function.
