Abstract

A multi-leaf collimator includes a plurality of leaves aligned in a thickness direction of the leaf, a driving device which advances and retracts the leaves with respect to radiation (Sr), and an identification mark identifiable at least from a direction perpendicular to both the advancing and retracting direction of the leaves and the thickness direction of the leaf to detect positions of the leaves, wherein, when the plurality of leaves are disposed in a preset reference position (P), gaps (d 2 ) between adjacent identification marks in the thickness direction are formed to be larger than gaps (d 1 ) between adjacent leaves in the thickness direction.

Claims (47)

1 . A multi-leaf collimator which limits a radiation field of radiation, the multi-leaf collimator comprising:

a plurality of leaves aligned in a thickness direction of the leaf;

a driving mechanism configured to advance and retract each of the plurality of leaves with respect to the radiation; and

an identification mark provided on each of the plurality of leaves and identifiable at least from a direction perpendicular to both the advancing and retracting direction of the leaves and the thickness direction of the leaf,

wherein, when the plurality of leaves are disposed in a preset reference position, gaps between the adjacent identification marks in the thickness direction are formed to be larger than gaps between the adjacent leaves in the thickness direction,

wherein the plurality of leaves are constituted of various types of leaves having different thicknesses,

wherein a width of the identification mark in the thickness direction is formed to be smaller than a thickness of the leaf including the identification mark, and

wherein the number of types of widths of the identification mark is equal to or less than the number of types of thicknesses of the leaves.

4 . The multi-leaf collimator according to claim 1 , wherein the identification marks of the adjacent leaves in the thickness direction are disposed at different positions in the advancing and retracting direction.

5 . The multi-leaf collimator according to claim 1 , wherein the identification mark is formed at an end surface in a direction perpendicular to both the advancing and retracting direction and the thickness direction of the leaf.

6 . The multi-leaf collimator according to claim 5 , wherein the end surface includes at least one of a convex portion and a groove portion, and

wherein the identification mark is formed on at least one of the convex portion and the groove portion.

7 . A radiation therapy device comprising:

the multi-leaf collimator according to claim 1 ,

a mark position detection unit configured to detect a position of the identification mark;

a control unit configured to control the driving mechanism based on the position of the identification mark detected by the mark position detection unit; and

a radiation irradiation device configured to radiate radiation.

8 . The multi-leaf collimator according to claim 4 , wherein the identification mark is formed at an end surface in a direction perpendicular to both the advancing and retracting direction and the thickness direction of the leaf.

9 . The multi-leaf collimator according to claim 8 , wherein the end surface includes at least one of a convex portion and a groove portion, and

wherein the identification mark is formed on at least one of the convex portion and the groove portion.

10 . A radiation therapy device comprising:

the multi-leaf collimator according to claim 4 ;

a mark position detection unit configured to detect a position of the identification mark;

a control unit configured to control the driving mechanism based on the position of the identification mark detected by the mark position detection unit; and

a radiation irradiation device configured to radiate radiation.

11 . A radiation therapy device comprising:

the multi-leaf collimator according to claim 5 ;

a mark position detection unit configured to detect a position of the identification mark;

a control unit configured to control the driving mechanism based on the position of the identification mark detected by the mark position detection unit; and

a radiation irradiation device configured to radiate radiation.

12 . A radiation therapy device comprising:

the multi-leaf collimator according to claim 6 ;

a mark position detection unit configured to detect a position of the identification mark;

a control unit configured to control the driving mechanism based on the position of the identification mark detected by the mark position detection unit; and

a radiation irradiation device configured to radiate radiation.

13 . A radiation therapy device comprising:

the multi-leaf collimator according to claim 8 ;

a mark position detection unit configured to detect a position of the identification mark;

a control unit configured to control the driving mechanism based on the position of the identification mark detected by the mark position detection unit; and

a radiation irradiation device configured to radiate radiation.

14 . A radiation therapy device comprising:

the multi-leaf collimator according to claim 9 ;

a mark position detection unit configured to detect a position of the identification mark;

a control unit configured to control the driving mechanism based on the position of the identification mark detected by the mark position detection unit; and

a radiation irradiation device configured to radiate radiation.
