Abstract

A method includes: determining, by user equipment UE, a first discovery signal, and obtaining, by the UE after encoding the first discovery signal, respective initial locations of k redundancy versions RVs of the first discovery signal, where k is a positive integer not less than 1. The method also includes separately mapping, by the UE according to respective initial locations off RVs of the k RVs, each RV of the f RVs to at least two physical resource block pairs PRB Pairs of a first resource location, where f is a positive integer not less than 1 and not greater than k. The method also includes transmitting, by the UE at the first resource location, the f RVs of the first discovery signal.
