Abstract

A broadcasting generating process method according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: encoding broadcasting data for one or more broadcasting services; encoding first level signaling information including information describing attributes for the one or more broadcasting services; encoding second level signaling information including information for scanning the one or more broadcasting services; and generating a broadcasting signal including the broadcasting data, the first level signaling information and the second level signaling information, wherein the second level signaling information is transmitted through a predetermined position in the broadcasting signal, and the second level signaling information comprises IP address information for identifying IP addresses of packets transmitting the first signaling information and physical layer pipe (PLP) ID information for identifying PLP including the first signaling information.

Claims (92)

1. A method of generating and processing a broadcast signal, the method comprising:

generating broadcast data for broadcast services;

generating first signaling information providing information for discovery and acquisition of a broadcast service;

generating second signaling information including a plurality of service entries for the broadcast services,

wherein one of the plurality of service entries includes a first service identifier identifying the broadcast service and bootstrap information indicating a transport session carrying the first signaling information for the broadcast service;

generating physical layer signaling information including first physical layer signaling information having a fixed size and second physical layer signaling information having a variable size,

wherein the first physical layer signaling information includes information indicating a Forward Error Correction (FEC) type for protection of the second physical layer signaling information and information indicating a size of the second physical layer signaling information, and

wherein the second physical layer signaling information includes information required to decode the broadcast data and information related to the second signaling information; and

transmitting the broadcast signal including the broadcast data, the first signaling information, the second signaling information, and the physical layer signaling information,

wherein the first signaling information includes User Service Description (USD) information having a second service identifier which identifies the broadcast service that the USD information pertains to,

wherein the second service identifier has a same value as the first service identifier, thereby referencing to the corresponding service entry in the second signaling information,

wherein the first signaling information further includes Media Presentation Description (MPD) information and Transport Session Instance Description (TSID) information, and

wherein the TSID information includes a first Transport Session Identifier (TSI) value identifying a first Layered Coding Transport (LCT) channel carrying a first component of the broadcast service.

2. The method according to claim 1 ,

wherein the USD information further includes basepattern information, and

wherein the basepattern information includes a character pattern for use to match and identify a resource identifier in the MPD information.

3. The method according to claim 1 ,

wherein the TSID information further includes a second TSI value identifying a second LCT channel carrying a second component of the broadcast service, and

wherein the second component has a different presentation capability than the first component.

4. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the first signaling information further includes capability information for specifying capabilities required by a receiver to present a broadcast content included in the broadcast service.

5. An apparatus for receiving a broadcast signal, the apparatus comprising:

a tuner configured to:

receive the broadcast signal including broadcast data for broadcast services, first signaling information, second signaling information, and physical layer signaling information,

wherein the first signaling information provides information for discovery and acquisition of a broadcast service,

wherein the second signaling information includes a plurality of service entries for the broadcast services,

wherein one of the plurality of service entries includes a first service identifier identifying the broadcast service and bootstrap information indicating a transport session carrying the first signaling information for the broadcast service,

wherein the first signaling information includes User Service Description (USD) information having a second service identifier which identifies the broadcast service that the USD information pertains to,

wherein the second service identifier has a same value as the first service identifier, thereby referencing to the corresponding service entry in the second signaling information,

wherein the first signaling information further includes Media Presentation Description (MPD) information and Transport Session Instance Description (TSID) information

wherein the TSID information includes a first Transport Session Identifier (TSI) value identifying a first Layered Coding Transport (LCT) channel carrying a first component of the broadcast service,

wherein the physical layer signaling information includes first physical layer signaling information having a fixed size and second physical layer signaling information having a variable size,

wherein the first physical layer signaling information includes information indicating a Forward Error Correction (FEC) type for protection of the second physical layer signaling information and information indicating a size of the second physical layer signaling information, and

wherein the second physical layer signaling information includes information required to decode the broadcast data and information related to the second signaling information; and

a hardware processor configured to:

decode the physical layer signaling information included in the broadcast signal,

decode the second signaling information included in the broadcast signal,

decode the first signaling information included in the broadcast signal, and

decode the broadcast data included in the broadcast signal.

6. The apparatus according to claim 5 ,

wherein the USD information further includes basepattern information, and

wherein the basepattern information includes a character pattern for use to match and identify a resource identifier in the MPD information.

7. The apparatus according to claim 5 ,

wherein the TSID information further includes a second TSI value identifying a second LCT channel carrying a second component of the broadcast service, and

wherein the second component has a different presentation capability than the first component.

8. The apparatus according to claim 5 , wherein the first signaling information further includes capability information for specifying capabilities required by a receiver to present a broadcast content included in the broadcast service.

9. An apparatus for generating and processing a broadcast signal, the apparatus comprising:

a hardware processor configured to:

generate broadcast data for broadcast services,

generate first signaling information providing information for discovery and acquisition of a broadcast service, and

generate second signaling information including a plurality of service entries for the broadcast services,

wherein one of the plurality of service entries includes a first service identifier identifying the broadcast service and bootstrap information indicating a transport session carrying the first signaling information for the broadcast service;

generate physical layer signaling information including first physical layer signaling information having a fixed size and second physical layer signaling information having a variable size,

wherein the first physical layer signaling information includes information indicating a Forward Error Correction (FEC) type for protection of the second physical layer signaling information and information indicating a size of the second physical layer signaling information, and

wherein the second physical layer signaling information includes information required to decode the broadcast data and information related to the second signaling information; and

a transmitter configured to transmit the broadcast signal including the broadcast data, the first signaling information, the second signaling information, and the physical layer signaling information,

wherein the first signaling information includes User Service Description (USD) information having a second service identifier which identifies the broadcast service that the USD information pertains to,

wherein the second service identifier has a same value as the first service identifier, thereby referencing the corresponding service entry in the second signaling information,

wherein the USD information describes details of technical information for the broadcast service,

wherein the first signaling information further includes Media Presentation Description (MPD) information and Transport Session Instance Description (TSID) information, and

wherein the TSID information includes a first Transport Session Identifier (TSI) value identifying a first Layered Coding Transport (LCT) channel carrying a first component of the broadcast service.

10. The apparatus according to claim 9 ,

wherein the USD information further includes basepattern information, and

wherein the basepattern information includes a character pattern for use to match and identify a resource identifier in the MPD information.

11. The apparatus according to claim 9 ,

wherein the TSID information further includes a second TSI value identifying a second LCT channel carrying a second component of the broadcast service, and

wherein the second component has a different presentation capability than the first component.

12. The apparatus according to claim 9 , wherein the first signaling information further includes capability information for specifying capabilities required by a receiver to present a broadcast content included in the broadcast service.

13. A method of receiving a broadcast signal, the method comprising:

receiving the broadcast signal including broadcast data for broadcast services, first signaling information, second signaling information, and physical layer signaling information,

wherein the first signaling information provides information for discovery and acquisition of a broadcast service,

wherein the second signaling information includes a plurality of service entries for the broadcast services,

wherein one of the plurality of service entries includes a first service identifier identifying the broadcast service and bootstrap information indicating a transport session carrying the first signaling information for the broadcast service,

wherein the first signaling information includes User Service Description (USD) information having a second service identifier which identifies the broadcast service that the USD information pertains to,

wherein the second service identifier has a same value as the first service identifier, thereby referencing to the corresponding service entry in the second signaling information,

wherein the USD information describes details of technical information for the broadcast service,

wherein the first signaling information further includes Media Presentation Description (MPD) information and Transport Session Instance Description (TSID) information, and

wherein the TSID information includes a first Transport Session Identifier (TSI) value identifying a first Layered Coding Transport (LCT) channel carrying a first component of the broadcast service,

wherein the physical layer signaling information includes first physical layer signaling information having a fixed size and second physical layer signaling information having a variable size,

wherein the first physical layer signaling information includes information indicating a Forward Error Correction (FEC) type for protection of the second physical layer signaling information and information indicating a size of the second physical layer signaling information, and

wherein the second physical layer signaling information includes information required to decode the broadcast data and information related to the second signaling information;

decoding the physical layer signaling information included in the broadcast signal;

decoding the second signaling information included in the broadcast signal;

decoding the first signaling information included in the broadcast signal; and

decoding the broadcast data included in the broadcast signal.

14. The method according to claim 13 ,

wherein the USD information further includes basepattern information, and

wherein the basepattern information includes a character pattern for use to match and identify a resource identifier in the MPD information.

15. The method according to claim 13 ,

wherein the TSID information further includes a second TSI value identifying a second LCT channel carrying a second component of the broadcast service, and

wherein the second component has a different presentation capability than the first component.

16. The method according to claim 13 ,

wherein the first signaling information further includes capability information for specifying capabilities required by a receiver to present a broadcast content included in the broadcast service.
