Analyte monitoring device and methods of use
In aspects of the present disclosure, a no coding blood glucose monitoring unit including a calibration unit is integrated with one or more components of an analyte monitoring system to provide compatibility with in vitro test strip that do not require a calibration code is provided. Also disclosed are methods, systems, devices and kits for providing the same.
1. An apparatus, comprising:
an analyte sensor interface for communicatively coupling with an in vivo analyte sensor configured to be in contact with bodily fluid under a skin surface;
one or more processors; and
a memory, the memory storing instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, causes the one or more processors to:
receive information for one or more measurements made by the in vivo analyte sensor, including at least a first parameter;
receive information for one or more measurements made by an in vitro analyte sensor, including at least a second parameter, the in vitro analyte sensor having a type;
recognize the type of the in vitro analyte sensor without a user input as a no-coding in vitro analyte sensor based on the received information;
validate the first parameter with the second parameter; and
determine using the one or more processors, an analyte level based on the received information for the one or more measurements made by the in vitro analyte sensor, the information for the one or more measurements made by the in vivo analyte sensor, and a universal calibration parameter that is associated with no-coding in vitro analyte sensors.
2. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the universal calibration parameter is a standard calibration code, and the in vitro analyte sensor is manufactured to fit the standard calibration code.
3. The apparatus of claim 1 , the memory storing instructions to process one or more time spaced signals generated by the in vivo analyte sensor.
4. The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein the bodily fluid includes dermal fluid.
5. The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein the bodily fluid includes interstitial fluid.
6. The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein the analyte level is related to one or more of a glucose level, lactate level, or oxygen level.
7. The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein the in vivo analyte sensor includes a plurality of electrodes including a working electrode comprising an analyte-responsive enzyme.
8. The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the enzyme is bound to a polymer disposed on the working electrode.
9. The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the working electrode comprises a mediator.
10. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the mediator is bound to a polymer disposed on the working electrode.
11. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the mediator is crosslinked with a polymer disposed on the working electrode.
12. The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein the in vivo analyte sensor includes a plurality of electrodes including a working electrode comprising a mediator.
13. The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the mediator is bound to a polymer disposed on the working electrode.
14. The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the mediator is crosslinked with a polymer disposed on the working electrode.
15. A system, comprising:
an in vivo analyte sensor configured to be in contact with bodily fluid under a skin surface; and
a device to operatively couple with the in vivo analyte sensor, the device including an analyte sensor interface for communicatively coupling with the in vivo analyte sensor, one or more processors, and a memory, the memory storing instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, causes the one or more processors to:
receive information for one or more measurements made by the in vivo analyte sensor, including at least a first parameter;
receive, using the one or more processors, information for one or more measurements made by an in vitro analyte sensor, including at least a second parameter, the in vitro analyte sensor having a type;
recognize, using the one or more processors, the type of the in vitro analyte sensor without a user input as a no-coding in vitro analyte sensor based on the received information;
validate the first parameter with the second parameter; and
determine, using the one or more processors, an analyte level based on the received information for the one or more measurements made by the in vitro analyte sensor, the information for the one or more measurements made by the in vivo analyte sensor, and a universal calibration parameter that is associated with no-coding in vitro analyte sensors.
16. The system of claim 15 , wherein the universal calibration parameter is a standard calibration code, and the in vitro analyte sensor is manufactured to fit the standard calibration code.
17. The system of claim 16 , wherein the device is further configured to process, using the one or more processors, one or more time spaced signals generated by the in vivo analyte sensor.
18. The system of claim 17 , wherein the bodily fluid includes dermal fluid.
19. The system of claim 17 , wherein the bodily fluid includes interstitial fluid.
20. The system of claim 17 , wherein the analyte level is related to one or more of a glucose level, lactate level, or oxygen level.
