Provided are methods and devices for detecting methicillin-resistant Staphylcoccus aureus.
1 - 9 . (canceled)
10 . A combination assay for determining the presence of antibiotic resistant Staphylococcus aureus in a blood sample, comprising:
a. a first lateral flow device comprising a sample pad and a conjugate pad, wherein antibodies that bind specifically to Staphylococcus aureus antigens are conjugated to a test zone on the conjugate pad; and
b. a second lateral flow device comprising a sample pad and a conjugate pad, wherein antibodies that bind specifically to penicillin-binding protein 2a are conjugated to a test zone on the conjugate pad.
11 . The assay of claim 10 , wherein the antibiotic is methicillin.
12 . The assay of claim 10 , wherein the conjugate pad on each of the first lateral flow device and the second lateral flow device comprises a control zone.
13 . The assay of claim 10 , wherein the first lateral flow device comprises a lateral flow test strip mounted inside a hinged test card.
14 . The assay of claim 10 , wherein the second lateral flow device comprises a lateral flow test strip mounted inside a hinged test card.
