Abstract

This projector includes a laser light generation portion, a projection portion scanning laser light, and a projection screen. The projection screen includes a lens member including a plurality of lens portions splitting the laser light and a diffusion member arranged to be opposed to the lens member, having an incident surface and a diffusion portion. The diffusion portion of the diffusion member is arranged at a position apart by a distance larger than the focal length of the lens member along an optical axis with respect to the optical principal surface of the lens member.

Claims (17)

1. A projection device comprising:

a lens member including a plurality of lens portions that split laser light emitted from a laser light generation portion; and

a diffusion member that diffuses the split laser light, wherein

each of the lens portions has a convex shape on a side on which the laser light is incident,

the plurality of lens portions have a honeycomb shape,

a distance between an emitting surface of the lens member and an emitting surface of the diffusion member is at least a thickness of the lens member in an incident direction of the laser light, and

a center of the diffusion member in a thickness direction is arranged between a position apart by a focal length of the lens member with respect to an optical principal surface of the lens member and a position apart by a distance twice the focal length of the lens member with respect to the optical principal surface of the lens member.

2. The projection device according to claim 1 , wherein

a distance between centers of the lens portions that are adjacent to each other is smaller than a diameter of the laser light.

3. The projection device according to claim 1 , wherein

a distance between centers of the lens portions that are adjacent to each other is not more than about one third a diameter of the laser light.

4. The projection device according to claim 1 , wherein

a distance between centers of the lens portions that are adjacent to each other is not more than about one sixth a diameter of the laser light and not less than about one tenth the diameter of the laser light.

5. The projection device according to claim 1 , wherein

the diffusion member has directivity of diffusing the split laser light to the emitting surface of the diffusion member.

6. The projection device according to claim 5 , wherein

the diffusion member transmits, refracts, or polarizes light that is incident from the emitting surface side of the diffusion member in the diffusion member.
