Abstract

A mounting system for mounting a display device to a surface, the mounting system adjustable in multiple degrees of freedom to selectively position and orientate the attached device relative to the mounting surface and/or other collocated display devices. According to various embodiments, a surface bracket is configured to attach to a mounting surface and an arm assembly operatively couples the surface bracket with a mount carriage. A mount bracket is movably coupled to the mount carriage and is selectively movable in a plane substantially parallel to the surface. A plurality of device bracket assemblies are coupled to the mount bracket. Each of the device bracket assemblies is selectively movable to translate, pivot and tilt the attached device.

Claims (30)

1. An adjustable display mount for mounting a display device to a mounting surface, comprising:

a surface bracket configured to operatively attach to a mounting surface;

a plurality of arm assemblies, each of the plurality of arm assemblies operatively connected to the surface bracket, the plurality of arm assemblies selectively positionable between a retracted position and an extended position displaced away from the mounting surface;

a mount bracket operatively connected to the surface bracket via the plurality of arm assemblies, the mount bracket translatable towards and away from the surface bracket along an axis substantially perpendicular to a plane defined by the mounting surface via adjustment of the plurality of arm assemblies;

a plurality of device bracket assemblies operatively connected to the mount bracket and configured for operative attachment to the display device;

a plurality of skew adjustment positioner assemblies operatively connected to the mount bracket; and

a plurality of tilt positioner assemblies,

wherein, when the display device is coupled to the plurality of device bracket assemblies:

a first selective adjustment of the plurality of tilt positioner assemblies results in a translation of the display device relative to the mount bracket,

a second selective adjustment of the plurality of tilt positioner assemblies results in a tilting of the display device relative to the mount bracket about a first axis, and

a first selective adjustment of the plurality of skew adjustment positioner assemblies results in a rotation of the display device about a second axis different than the first axis.

2. The adjustable display mount of claim 1 , wherein a second selective adjustment of the plurality of skew adjustment positioner assemblies results in a translation of the display device in a direction different than the direction of translation of the display device relative to the display device resulting from the first selective adjustment of the plurality of tilt positioner assemblies.

3. The adjustable display mount of claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of arm assemblies comprises:

a first arm; and

a second arm pivotally coupled to the first arm via a pin, the pin positioned proximate respective midpoints of the first arm and the second arm.

4. The adjustable display mount of claim 3 , wherein, for each of the plurality of arm assemblies, the first arm is pivotally coupled to the surface bracket, and the second arm is slidingly coupled to the surface bracket.

5. The adjustable display mount of claim 1 , further comprising a service strut configured to move between a first position, where the display device is positioned in a viewing orientation, and a second position, where the display device is positioned in a service orientation such that adjustments may be made to a rear side of the display device.

6. The adjustable display mount of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of skew adjustment assemblies consists of a first skew adjustment assembly and a second skew adjustment assembly, and wherein the first selective adjustment of the plurality of skew adjustment positioner assemblies results from adjusting the first skew adjustment assembly and the second skew adjustment assembly in opposite directions.

7. The adjustable display mount of claim 6 , wherein a second selective adjustment of the plurality of skew adjustment positioner assemblies results in a translation of the display device in a direction different than the direction of translation of the display device relative to the display device resulting from the first selective adjustment of the plurality of tilt positioner assemblies.

8. The adjustable display mount of claim 6 , wherein each of the plurality of device bracket assemblies comprise:

a mount engagement bracket selectively engagable with the mount bracket;

a device bracket configured to operatively attach to the display device, the device bracket movably and operatively connected to the mount engagement bracket and including a device bracket surface configured to attach to the display device; and

first and second of the plurality of tilt positioner assemblies, each rotatably associated with the mount engagement bracket and configured such that rotation of a first portion of a respective tilt positioner assembly increases a distance between a first portion of the device bracket relative to the mount engagement bracket in a direction substantially perpendicular to a plane defined by the mounting surface.

9. The adjustable display mount of claim 8 , wherein, for each of the plurality of device bracket assemblies, the first portion of each of the first and second tilt positioner assemblies are independently rotatable.

10. The adjustable display mount of claim 9 , wherein, for each of the plurality of device bracket assemblies, corresponding rotation of the first portion of the first and second tilt positioner assemblies in the same orientation results in a translational movement of the respective device bracket relative to the respective mount engagement bracket.

11. The adjustable display mount of claim 10 , further comprising a service strut configured to move between a first position, where the display device is positioned in a viewing orientation, and a second position, where the display device is positioned in a service orientation such that adjustments may be made to a rear side of the display device.

12. The adjustable display mount of claim 11 , wherein each of the plurality of arm assemblies comprises:

a first arm; and

a second arm pivotally coupled to the first arm via a pin, the pin positioned proximate respective midpoints of the first arm and the second arm.

13. The adjustable display mount of claim 12 , wherein, for each of the plurality of arm assemblies, the first arm is pivotally coupled to the surface bracket, and the second arm is slidingly coupled to the surface bracket.
