Abstract

The disclosure describes systems and methods related to moving object content that is enhanced with textual content presented using rapid serial visual presentation (“RSVP”). In one embodiment, video content is enhanced with RSPV content. Related embodiments provide systems and methods for displaying, creating, and editing such content. A particular embodiment provides for RSPV enhanced video previews. In another embodiment, augmented reality content is enhanced with RSVP content. In some embodiments, RSPV enhanced moving object content is provided on various end user electronic devices including smart phones, smart watches, and head mounted displays. These and other embodiments are disclosed further herein.

Claims (32)

1. A method of providing an augmented reality (“AR”) interface on a user electronic device that is enabled to receive an AR content unit, the method comprising:

enabling the user electronic device to display a selectable visible marker of the AR content unit, the selectable visible marker being selectable for initiating display of the AR content unit by rapid serial visual presentation (RSVP), wherein the AR content unit includes information related to a real world object displayed in a view finder of the user electronic device; and

enabling the user electronic device to display text of the AR content unit using RSVP in the view finder in response to a user interface action selecting the selectable visible marker of the AR content unit.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein the selectable visible marker of the AR content unit comprises an icon.

3. The method of claim 1 wherein the selectable visible marker of the AR content unit comprises a title of the AR content unit.

4. The method of claim 1 wherein the textual content includes primary content and sub-content, the sub-content being selectable by a user interface action during a time period after RSVP display of the primary content has begun, selection of the sub-content initiating RSVP display of the sub-content.

5. The method of claim 4 wherein the time period occurs after RSVP display of the primary content has finished.

6. The method of claim 4 wherein a selectable title of the sub-content is displayed for selection of the sub-content by the user interface action.

7. The method of claim 1 wherein the user electronic device is a smart phone.

8. The method of claim 1 wherein the user electronic device is a smart watch.

9. The method of claim 1 wherein the user electronic device is a head mounted display.

10. The method of claim 1 wherein the selectable visible marker of the AR content unit comprises a visual indicator that can be selected.

11. A computer program product embedded in a non-transitory computer readable medium including instructions executable by a computer processor to provide an augmented reality (“AR”) interface on a user electronic device, the user electronic device being enabled to receive an AR content unit, the instructions being executable by a computer processor to:

enable the user electronic device to display a selectable visible marker of the AR content unit, the selectable visible marker being selectable for initiating display of the AR content unit by rapid serial visual presentation (RSVP), wherein the AR content unit includes information related to a real world object displayed in a view finder of the user electronic device; and

enable the user electronic device to display text of the AR content unit using RSVP in the view finder in response to a user interface action selecting the selectable visible marker of the AR content unit.

12. The computer program product of claim 11 wherein the instructions are executable by a computer processor such that the selectable visible marker of the AR content unit comprises an icon.

13. The computer program product of claim 11 wherein the instructions are executable by a computer processor such that the selectable visible marker of the AR content unit comprises a title of the AR content unit.

14. The computer program product of claim 11 wherein the textual content includes primary content and sub-content, the instructions being executable by a computer processor such that the sub-content being selectable by a user interface action during a time period after RSVP display of the primary content has begun, selection of the sub-content initiating RSVP display of the sub-content.

15. The computer program product of claim 14 wherein the instructions are executable by a computer processor such that the time period occurs after RSVP display of the primary content has finished.

16. The computer program product of claim 14 wherein the instructions are executable by a computer processor such that a selectable title of the sub-content is displayed for selection of the sub-content by the user interface action.

17. The computer program product of claim 14 wherein the instructions are executable by a computer processor such that the selectable visible marker of the AR content unit comprises a visual indicator that can be selected.

18. A computer system for providing augmented reality (“AR”) content to a user electronic device, the AR content being displayable by rapid serial visual presentation (“RSVP”), the system comprising:

one or more server computers configured to format an AR content unit for RSVP display on a user electronic device (“an RSVP-enabled AR content unit”) in a view finder of the user electronic device, wherein the AR content unit includes information related to a real world object displayed in the view finder;

one or more server computers configured to cause a selectable visible marker of the AR content to be displayed on the user electronic device;

one or more server computers configured to receive location information from the user electronic device; and

one or more server computers configured to, based on the location information and information regarding a real world object that is related to the RSVP-enabled AR content unit, send the RSVP-enabled AR content unit to the electronic user device when the user device is in the vicinity of the real world object that is related to the RSVP-enabled AR content unit.

19. The computer system of claim 18 wherein the selectable visible marker of the AR content unit comprises an icon.

20. The computer system of claim 18 wherein the selectable visible marker of the AR content unit comprises a title of the AR content unit.

21. The computer system of claim 18 wherein textual content of the AR content includes primary content and sub-content, the sub-content being selectable by a user interface action during a time period after RSVP display of the primary content has begun, selection of the sub-content initiating RSVP display of the sub-content.

22. The computer system of claim 21 wherein the time period occurs after RSVP display of the primary content has finished.

23. The computer system of claim 21 wherein a selectable title of the sub-content is displayed for selection of the sub-content by the user interface action.

24. The computer system of claim 18 wherein the selectable visible marker of the AR content unit comprises a visual indicator that can be selected.
