Abstract

Systems and methods for cloud-computing network with distributed input devices and a cloud-based analytics platform for automatically analyzing received 2-Dimensional (2D) video and/or image inputs for generating 3-Dimensional (3D) surveillance data and providing 3D analytics for a target surveillance area.

Claims (30)

1. A cloud-based surveillance system for a target surveillance area, comprising:

at least two input capture devices (ICDs) and a cloud-based analytics platform;

wherein the cloud-based analytics platform is constructed and configured in network-based communication with the at least two ICDs;

wherein each of the at least two ICDs has at least one visual sensor and is operable to capture and transmit input data to the cloud-based analytics platform;

wherein the cloud-based analytics platform is operable to:

generate 3-Dimensional (3D) visual data based on 2-Dimensional (2D) visual data captured from the at least two ICDs; and

perform 3D analytics based on the 3D visual data and the input data.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least two ICDs are operable for wireless cross-communication with each other independent of the cloud-based analytics platform, wherein the cross-communication of the at least two ICDs includes data exchange, and wherein the data exchange includes information about an environment of the surveillance area, settings, inputs, and combinations thereof.

3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least two ICDs are selected from the group consisting of security cameras, smart phones, tablets, and wearable input capture devices.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the input data are selected from live streaming video, real-time images and/or audio, previously recorded video, previously captured images and/or audio, and combinations thereof.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the cloud-based analytics platform provides data storage.

6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the system further comprises at least one user device communicatively connected to the cloud-based analytics platform.

7. The system of claim 6 , wherein the at least one user device is operable to access the cloud-based analytics platform with an authorized account.

8. The system of claim 6 , wherein the at least one user device is selected from the group consisting of smart phones, tablets, personal computers, laptops, and head-mounted displays.

9. The system of claim 6 , wherein the at least one user device is further operable to display the 3D visual data of the cloud-based surveillance system.

10. The system of claim 6 , wherein the at least one user device is further operable to receive alerts and/or messages about the target surveillance area from the cloud-based analytics platform.

11. A method of cloud-based surveillance for a target surveillance area, comprising:

communicatively connecting at least two input capture devices (ICDs) to a cloud-based analytics platform via a communication network; wherein each of the at least two ICDs has at least one visual sensor;

each of the at least two ICDs capturing and transmitting input data to the cloud-based analytics platform;

the cloud-based analytics platform generating 3-Dimensional (3D) visual data based on 2-Dimensional (2D) visual data captured from the at least two ICDs; and

the cloud-based analytics platform performing 3D analytics based on the 3D visual data.

12. The method of claim 11 , further comprising the at least two ICDs cross-communicating with each other independent of the cloud platform, wherein the cross-communication of the at least two ICDs includes data exchange, and wherein the data exchange includes information about an environment of the target surveillance area, settings, inputs, and combinations thereof.

13. The method of claim 11 , wherein the at least two ICDs are selected from the group consisting of security cameras, smart phones, tablets, and wearable input capture devices.

14. The method of claim 11 , wherein the input data are selected from live streaming video, real-time images and/or audio, previously recorded video, previously captured images and/or audio, and combinations thereof.

15. The method of claim 11 , wherein the cloud-based analytics platform provides data storage.

16. The method of claim 11 , further comprising accessing the cloud-based analytics platform for the target surveillance area with an authorized account via at least one user device.

17. The method of claim 16 , wherein the at least one user device is selected from the group consisting of smart phones, tablets, personal computers, laptops, and head-mounted displays.

18. The method of claim 16 , further comprising the at least one user device displaying the 3D visual data of the surveillance system.

19. The method of claim 18 , wherein the 3D visual data is displayed in real time or in near real time.

20. The method of claim 16 , further comprising the at least one user device receiving alerts and/or messages about the target surveillance area from the cloud-based analytics platform.
