Abstract

In some implementations, a radio access provider (RAP), e.g., of a wireless telecommunications network, can identifying matching data in two data flows associated with respective, different terminals. The RAP can determine a common wireless-resource allocation for the matching data, and respective allocation messages for the terminals. Each allocation message can indicate the common resource allocation. The RAP can transmit the allocation messages to the terminals. In some implementations, a wireless communications device can receive two allocation messages, one for a common and one for a terminal-specific resource allocation. The device can receive the common-allocation data before the terminal-specific data, and assemble a packet with at least some of the terminal-specific data before some of the common-allocation data. The device can decrypt the common-allocation data using a key associated with the common allocation.

Claims (55)

1. A radio access provider communicatively connectable with multiple terminals, the radio access provider comprising:

a processing unit;

a communications interface communicatively connected to the processing unit; and

one or more computer-readable media having thereon instructions executable to cause the processing unit to perform operations comprising:

comparing data in two data flows associated with respective, different terminals of the multiple terminals;

determining, based on the comparing, whether there is matching data in the two data flows associated with the respective, different terminals, the matching data including at least one range of one or more addressable units of contiguous data; and

if there is matching data in the two data flows associated with the respective, different terminals, then:

determining a common wireless-resource allocation associated with the matching data;

determining multiple allocation messages associated with the respective, different terminals, the allocation messages indicating the common wireless-resource allocation;

transmitting the allocation messages to the respective, different individual terminals via the communications interface;

encrypting the matching data as encrypted matching data using a key associated with the allocation messages; and

transmitting the encrypted matching data via the communications interface according to the common wireless-resource allocation.

2. The radio access provider according to claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise determining, based on the comparing, whether the matching data is in respective subsets of the two data flows, wherein the respective subsets are associated with a same transmission window.

3. The radio access provider according to claim 1 , wherein the data flows comprise non-guaranteed-bit-rate (non-GBR) data flows.

4. The radio access provider according to claim 1 , the operations further comprise locating the matching data at a first position in a first packet associated with a first data flow and at a second, different position in a second packet associated with a second data flow.

5. The radio access provider according to claim 1 , wherein the allocation messages comprise respective Long Term Evolution (LTE) Downlink Control Information (DCI) messages.

6. The radio access provider according to claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise:

determining whether the matching data is in at least one additional data flow; and

determining that a number of data flows in the at least one additional data flow meets a predetermined criterion.

7. The radio access provider according to claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise determining whether the matching data is in at least one of an application header or an application payload of a data stream of at least one of the data flows.

8. The radio access provider according to claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise:

receiving a first instance of the matching data in a first data flow of the two data flows;

receiving a second instance of the matching data in a second data flow of the two data flows; and

transmitting exactly one transmitted instance of the matching data via the communications interface.

9. The radio access provider according to claim 1 , wherein the determining the common wireless-resource allocation is performed prior to the encrypting the matching data.

10. A method, comprising:

comparing data in two data flows associated with respective, different terminals;

determining, based on the comparing, whether there is matching data in the two data flows associated with the respective different terminals, the matching data including at least one range of one or more addressable units of contiguous data; and

if there is matching data in the two data flows associated with the respective, different terminals, then:

determining a common wireless-resource allocation associated with the matching data;

determining multiple allocation messages associated with the respective, different terminals, the allocation messages indicating the common wireless-resource allocation;

transmitting the allocation messages to the respective, different terminals via a communications interface;

encrypting the matching data as encrypted matching data using a key associated with the allocation messages; and

transmitting the encrypted matching data via the communications interface according to the common wireless-resource allocation.

11. The method according to claim 10 , further comprising determining, based on the comparing, whether the matching data is in respective subsets of the two data flows, wherein the respective subsets are associated with a same transmission window.

12. The method according to claim 10 , further comprising locating the matching data at a first position in a first packet associated with a first data flow and at a second, different position in a second packet associated with a second data flow.

13. One or more non-transitory computer-readable storage media having instructions stored thereupon which are executable by one or more processors and which, when executed, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:

comparing data in two data flows associated with respective, different terminals;

determining, based on the comparing, whether there is matching data in the two data flows associated with the respective, different terminals, the matching data including at least one range of one or more addressable units of contiguous data; and

if there is matching data in the two data flows associated with the respective, different terminals, then:

determining a common wireless-resource allocation associated with the matching data;

determining multiple allocation messages associated with the respective, different terminals, the allocation messages indicating the common wireless-resource allocation;

transmitting the allocation messages to the respective, different terminals via a communications interface;

encrypting the matching data as encrypted matching data using a key associated with the allocation messages; and

transmitting the encrypted matching data via the communications interface according to the common wireless-resource allocation.

The one or more non-transitory computer-readable storage media according to claim 13 , the operations further comprising determining, based on the comparing, whether the matching data is in respective subsets of the two data flows, wherein the respective subsets are associated with a same transmission window.

15. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable storage media according to claim 13 , the operations further comprising locating the matching data at a first position in a first packet associated with a first data flow and at a second, different position in a second packet associated with a second data flow.

16. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable storage media according to claim 13 , the operations further comprising:

determining whether the matching data is in at least one additional data flow; and

determining that a number of data flows in the at least one additional data flow meets a predetermined criterion.

17. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable storage media according to claim 13 , the operations further comprising determining whether the matching data is in at least one of an application header or an application payload of a data stream of at least one of the data flows.

18. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable storage media according to claim 13 , the operations further comprising:

receiving a first instance of the matching data in a first data flow of the two data flows:

receiving a second instance of the matching data in a second data flow of the two data flows; and

transmitting exactly one transmitted instance of the matching data via the communications interface.
