Display control device, recording control device, and display control method

1. A display control apparatus comprising:

a related content acquisition unit configured to acquire related content that relates to program video content;

a display controller configured to include functionality for controlling a display device to display the related content; and

a communication interface configured to communicate with a program video content processing device to remotely control the program video content processing device by transmitting a signal corresponding to a user operation,

wherein the display controller is configured to control the display device to display the related content according to a determination whether an operating mode is a playback mode in which given program content is skipped.

The display control apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein, in a case where the program video content is selected for playback according to playback selection information used to select a playback target, the related content acquisition unit is configured to acquire the related content according to the playback selection information.

3. The display control apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the related content acquisition unit is configured to acquire related content that relates to a performer obtained as a result of conducting a predetermined recognition process.

4. The display control apparatus according to claim 3 , wherein the predetermined recognition process is a speech recognition process.

5. The display control apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the display control apparatus is configured to play back the program video content selected on the basis of playback search keywords.

6. The display control apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the related content acquisition unit is configured to acquire the related content according to a recently used keyword.

7. The display control apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the related content acquisition unit is configured to acquire the related content according to a keyword used most often from among a plurality of keywords.

8. The display control apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the display control apparatus is configured to extract a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) related to the related content, and transmit a related content request containing the extracted URL.

9. A display control method comprising:

acquiring related content that relates to predetermined video content;

controlling a display device to display the related content; and

communicating with a program video content processing device to remotely control the program video content processing device by transmitting a signal corresponding to a user operation,

wherein the display device is controlled to display the related content according to a determination whether an operating mode is a playback mode in which given program content is skipped.

10. The display control method according to claim 9 , further comprising:

extracting a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) related to the related content; and

transmitting a related content request containing the extracted URL.

11. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a program which when executed by a computer causes the computer to perform a display control method comprising:

acquiring related content that relates to program video content;

controlling a display device to display the related content; and

communicating with a program video content processing device to remotely control the program video content processing device by transmitting a signal corresponding to a user operation,

wherein the display device is controlled to display the related content according to a determination whether an operating mode is a playback mode in which given program content is skipped.
