Abstract

Systems, methods, and software can be used to improve efficiency of a cargo shipping system. In some aspect, a cargo transportation unit (CTU) status notification is received from a cargo tracking device coupled with a CTU. The CTU status notification indicates a location of the CTU. A load event is determined based on the location of the CTU. A delivery record is generated based on the load event. A rating of a driver that is assigned to the CTU is generated, based on the delivery record.

Claims (44)

1 . A computer-implemented method for processing cargo shipping data, comprising:

receiving a cargo transportation unit (CTU) status notification from a cargo tracking device coupled with a CTU, wherein the CTU status notification indicates a location of the CTU;

determining, by a hardware processor, a load event based on the location of the CTU;

generating, by the hardware processor, a delivery record based on the load event; and

generating, by the hardware processor and based on the delivery record, a rating of a driver that is assigned to the CTU.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the CTU status notification further indicates at least one of a load status, a motion status, or a door status of the CTU, and the load event is determined further based on the at least one of the load status, the motion status, or the door status of the CTU.

3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining that the load event comprises a delivery completion event based on correlating the location of the CTU with information associated with a load on the CTU; and

wherein the delivery record is generated in response to determining that the load event comprises a delivery completion event.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the load event includes a delivery end event, and the delivery record is generated in response to the delivery end event.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the delivery record indicates at least one of whether a load on the CTU is delivered on-time or whether the load on the CTU is delivered without damage.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the rating of the driver is used in selecting drivers for other CTUs.

7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving a query for the rating of the driver; and

sending the rating of the driver in response to the query.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the CTU is at least one of a trailer or a shipping container.

9 . An electronic device, comprising:

a memory; and

at least one hardware processor communicatively coupled with the memory and configured to:

receive a cargo transportation unit (CTU) status notification from a cargo tracking device coupled with a CTU, wherein the CTU status notification indicates a location of the CTU;

determine a load event based on the location of the CTU;

generate a delivery record based on the load event; and

generate, based on the delivery record, a rating of a driver that is assigned to the CTU.

10 . The electronic device of claim 9 , wherein the CTU status notification further indicates at least one of a load status, a motion status, or a door status of the CTU, and the load event is determined further based on the at least one of the load status, the motion status, or the door status of the CTU.

11 . The electronic device of claim 9 , wherein the at least one hardware processor is configured to:

determine that the load event comprises a delivery completion event based on correlating the location of the CTU with information associated with a load on the CTU; and

wherein the delivery record is generated in response to determining that the load event comprises a delivery completion event.

12 . The electronic device of claim 9 , wherein the load event includes a delivery end event, and the delivery record is generated in response to the delivery end event.

13 . The electronic device of claim 9 , wherein the delivery record indicates at least one of whether a load on the CTU is delivered on-time or whether the load on the CTU is delivered without damage.

14 . The electronic device of claim 9 , wherein the rating of the driver is used in selecting drivers for other CTUs.

15 . The electronic device of claim 9 , wherein the at least one hardware processor is configured to:

receive a query for the rating of the driver; and

send the rating of the driver in response to the query.

16 . The electronic device of claim 9 , wherein the CTU is at least one of a trailer or a shipping container.

17 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium containing instructions which, when executed, cause a computing device to perform operations comprising:

receiving a cargo transportation unit (CTU) status notification from a cargo tracking device coupled with a CTU, wherein the CTU status notification indicates a location of the CTU;

determining, by a hardware processor, a load event based on the location of the CTU;

generating, by the hardware processor, a delivery record based on the load event; and

generating, by the hardware processor and based on the delivery record, a rating of a driver that is assigned to the CTU.

18 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 17 , wherein the CTU status notification further indicates at least one of a load status, a motion status, or a door status of the CTU, and the load event is determined further based on the at least one of the load status, the motion status, or the door status of the CTU.

19 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 17 , the operations further comprising:

determining that the load event comprises a delivery completion event based on correlating the location of the CTU with information associated with a load on the CTU; and

wherein the delivery record is generated in response to determining that the load event comprises a delivery completion event.

20 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 17 , wherein the load event includes a delivery end event, and the delivery record is generated in response to the delivery end event.
