Abstract

According to at least one embodiment, a computer-implemented method to interface with an automation system is disclosed. One or more activation parameters and deactivation parameters may be identified associated with a mobile control panel. A concealed interface of the mobile control panel may be activated based at least in part on the one or more activation parameters. The activated interface of the mobile control panel may be deactivated based at least in part on one or more sleep parameters.

Claims (46)

1. A computer-implemented method of interfacing with an automation system, comprising:

identifying one or more trigger parameters associated with a mobile control panel, wherein the one or more trigger parameters comprise voice activation by a user; and

altering a status of an interface of the mobile control panel based at least in part on the one or more trigger parameters;

wherein altering the status of the interface includes at least one of activating the interface from a concealed state and deactivating the interface by concealing the interface;

wherein the control panel is disguised as a household object that does not appear to be a control panel and the control panel is without visible user inputs when the interface is concealed.

2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more trigger parameters comprises at least one of a proximity trigger, biometric trigger, or status trigger, or a combination thereof.

3. The computer-implemented method of claim 2 , wherein each of the at least one status trigger includes one or more alarms, entries, motion detections, entry code accesses, unauthorized actions, or a combination thereof.

4. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:

detecting a presence of a person, or a control device, or both within a proximity of the control panel, wherein altering the status of the interface is based at least in part on the detection.

5. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:

unlocking the mobile control panel based at least in part on a user input.

6. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the control panel comprises an outward appearance of a common household object.

7. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein altering the status of the interface of the mobile control panel comprises revealing the user interface of the control panel to the user.

8. The computer-implemented method of claim 7 , further comprising:

adjusting a backlight level of the mobile control panel based at least in part on the altering.

9. An apparatus to interface with an automation system, comprising:

a processor;

a memory in electronic communication with the processor; and

instructions stored in the memory, the instructions being executable by the processor to:

identify one or more trigger parameters associated with the apparatus,

wherein the one or more trigger parameters comprise voice activation by a user;

alter a status of an interface of the apparatus based at least in part on the one or more trigger parameters;

wherein altering the status of the interface includes at least one of activating the interface from a concealed state and deactivating the interface by concealing the interface;

wherein the control panel is disguised as a household object that does not appear to be a control panel and the control panel is without visible user inputs when the interface is concealed.

10. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the one or more trigger parameters further comprises at least one of a proximity trigger, a biometric trigger, a status trigger, or a combination thereof.

11. The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein each of the at least one status triggers includes one or more alarms, unauthorized entries, unauthorized motion detections, entry code accesses, unauthorized actions, or a combination thereof.

12. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the instructions to alter the status of the interface are further executable by the processor to cause the apparatus to:

locate a control device within a proximity of the mobile control panel.

13. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the instructions are further executable by the processor to cause the apparatus to:

unlock the apparatus based at least in part on a user input.

14. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the instructions to alter the status of the interface are further executable by the processor to cause the apparatus to:

reveal the user interface of the apparatus to the user.

15. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions executable by a processor to:

identify a trigger parameter associated with a mobile control panel;

wherein the trigger parameter comprises voice activation by a user;

alter a status of an interface of the mobile control panel based at least in part on the trigger parameter;

wherein altering the status of the interface includes at least one of activating the interface from a concealed state and deactivating the interface by concealing the interface;

wherein the control panel is disguised as a household object that does not appear to be a control panel and the control panel is without visible user inputs when the interface is concealed.

16. The computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the trigger parameter further comprises at least one of a proximity trigger, a biometric trigger, a status trigger, or a combination thereof.

17. The computer-readable medium of claim 16 , wherein each of the at least one status trigger includes one or more alarms, unauthorized entries, unauthorized motion detections, entry code accesses, unauthorized actions, or a combination thereof.

18. The computer-readable medium of claim 16 , wherein the instructions are further executable to:

detect a presence of a person, or a control device, or both within a proximity of the control panel, wherein altering the status of the interface is based at least in part on the detection.

19. The computer-readable medium of claim 16 , wherein the instructions are further executable to:

unlock the mobile control panel based at least in part on a user input.

20. The computer-readable medium of claim 16 , wherein the instructions are further executable to:

reveal the user interface of the control panel to the user.
