Abstract

An antifogging article excellent in both an antifogging property and abrasion resistance and a manufacturing method thereof are provided. The antifogging article includes: a substrate; a water-absorbing resin layer disposed on the substrate; and an overcoat layer disposed on the water-absorbing resin layer and including: a hydrolyzed condensate of an alkoxysilane compound; and silica particles, wherein a film thickness of the overcoat layer is 20 to 350 nm and the overcoat layer is formed from an overcoat composition containing 90 to 45 parts by mass of the alkoxysilane compound and 10 to 55 parts by mass of the silica particles relative to total 100 parts by mass of the alkoxysilane compound and the silica particles.

Claims (20)

1 . An antifogging article comprising:

a substrate;

a water-absorbing resin layer disposed on the substrate; and

an overcoat layer disposed on the water-absorbing resin layer and comprising a hydrolyzed condensate of an alkoxysilane compound and silica particles,

wherein a film thickness of the overcoat layer is 20 to 350 nm and the overcoat layer is formed from an overcoat composition containing 90 to 45 parts by mass of the alkoxysilane compound and 10 to 55 parts by mass of the silica particles relative to total 100 parts by mass of the alkoxysilane compound and the silica particles.

2 . The antifogging article according to claim 1 ,

wherein the alkoxysilane compound is a compound represented by the following general formula (I),

(R 1 O) p SiR 2 (4-p)   (I)

where each R 1 independently represents an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, each R 2 independently represents an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, which may have a substituent, and p represents the number of 1 to 4.

3 . The antifogging article according to claim 1 ,

wherein an average particle diameter of the silica particle is 10 to 100 nm.

4 . An antifogging article comprising:

a substrate;

a water-absorbing resin layer disposed on the substrate; and

an overcoat layer disposed on the water-absorbing resin layer,

wherein a water vapor transmission rate of the overcoat layer measured in conformity with JIS K7129 is 75.0 to 99.8% and a haze value change of the antifogging article before and after performing an abrasion test of a load 4.90 N and 1,000 rotations with respect to a surface of the overcoat layer in conformity with JIS R3212 is 15% or less.

5 . A manufacturing method of an antifogging article, the method comprising:

forming a water-absorbing resin layer on a substrate;

forming an overcoat composition layer by applying an overcoat composition containing, 90 to 45 parts by mass of an alkoxysilane compound and 10 to 55 parts by mass of silica particles relative to total 100 parts by mass of the alkoxysilane compound and the silica particles on the water-absorbing resin layer; and

forming an overcoat layer by heat-treating the overcoat composition layer.
