Abstract

A first base station receives a first message comprising one or more first parameters identifying one or more first subframes as a listen-before-talk (LBT) subframe. One or more second subframes are selected as an LBT subframe by the first base station employing the one or more first parameters. An LBT procedure is performed in a subframe in the one or more subframes. A burst is transmitted when the LBT procedure indicates a clear channel.

Claims (36)

1. A method comprising:

receiving, by a first base station, a first message comprising one or more first parameters identifying one or more first subframe numbers assigned to a second base station as candidate starting subframes for a downlink burst of the second base station;

selecting, by the first base station and in response to the one or more first parameters:

one or more second subframe numbers, that are different than the one or more first subframe numbers, as candidate starting subframes for a downlink burst of the first base station; and

one or more third subframe numbers, that are the same as the one or more second subframe numbers, as non-candidate starting subframes for a downlink burst of the first base station;

performing, after selecting the one or more second subframe numbers as candidate starting subframes for a downlink burst of the first base station, a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure in a subframe identified by the one or more second subframe numbers; and

transmitting, by the first base station and in response to the LBT procedure indicating a clear channel, a burst in at least one subframe identified by the one or more third subframe numbers assigned to the first base station as non-candidate starting subframes for a downlink burst of the first base station.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first base station receives the first message from the second base station.

3. The method of claim 2 , wherein:

the first message comprises one or more second parameters indicating a maximum burst duration; and

a duration of the burst transmitted in response to the LBT procedure indicating a clear channel is less than the maximum burst duration.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first base station receives the first message from a network server.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more first parameters comprise a bitmap.

6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising transmitting to a wireless device, a second message comprising one or more second parameters indicating the one or more second subframe numbers.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first message comprises a load indication message.

8. The method of claim 1 , further comprising transmitting, to the second base station, a second message comprising one or more second parameters identifying the one or more second subframe numbers as candidate starting subframes for a downlink burst of the first base station.

9. The method of claim 1 , further comprising transmitting, to one or more wireless devices, at least one radio resource control (RRC) message comprising one or more second parameters identifying the one or more second subframe numbers as candidate starting subframes for a downlink burst of the first base station.

10. A first base station comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the first base station to:

receive a first message comprising one or more first parameters identifying one or more first subframe numbers assigned to a second base station as candidate starting subframes for a downlink burst of the second base station;

select, in response to the one or more first parameters:

one or more second subframe numbers, that are different than the one or more first subframe numbers, as candidate starting subframes for a downlink burst of the first base station; and

one or more third subframe numbers, that are the same as the one or more first subframe numbers, as non-candidate starting subframes for a downlink burst of the first base station;

perform, after selecting the one or more second subframe numbers as candidate starting subframes for a downlink burst of the first base station, a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure in a subframe identified by the one or more second subframe numbers; and

transmit, by the first base station and in response to the LBT procedure indicating a clear channel, a burst in at least one subframe identified by the one or more third subframe numbers assigned to the first base station as non-candidate starting subframes for a downlink burst of the first base station.

11. The first base station of claim 10 , wherein the first base station receives the first message from the second base station.

12. The first base station of claim 11 , wherein:

the first message comprises one or more second parameters indicating a maximum burst duration; and

a duration of the burst transmitted in response to the LBT procedure indicating a clear channel is less than the maximum burst duration.

13. The first base station of claim 10 , wherein the first base station receives the first message from a network server.

14. The first base station of claim 10 , wherein the one or more first parameters comprise a bitmap.

15. The first base station of claim 10 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the first base station to transmit to a wireless device, a second message comprising one or more second parameters indicating the one or more second subframe numbers.

16. The first base station of claim 10 , wherein the first message comprises a load indication message.

17. The first base station of claim 10 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the first base station to transmit, to the second base station, a second message comprising one or more second parameters identifying the one or more second subframe numbers as candidate starting subframes for a downlink burst of the first base station.

18. The first base station of claim 10 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the first base station to transmit, to one or more wireless devices, at least one radio resource control (RRC) message comprising one or more second parameters identifying the one or more second subframe numbers as candidate starting subframes for a downlink burst of the first base station.
