Abstract

An output control system incorporated in a vehicle including a clutch device comprises an upper limit setting section which sets an upper limit value of an output of the drive source to a starting control upper limit value when the output control system is performing a starting control; and a wheelie determiner section which determines whether or not a wheelie is occurring in the vehicle when the output control system is performing the starting control, wherein when the wheelie determiner section determines that the wheelie is occurring, the output control system performs a wheelie suppressing control for suppressing the output of the drive source while maintaining the starting control in such a manner that the output becomes less when the wheelie determiner section determines that the wheelie is occurring than before the wheelie determiner section determines that the wheelie is occurring.

Claims (39)

1. An output control system incorporated in a vehicle including a clutch device which shifts a drive system from a no-load state in which a driving power transmission path provided between a drive source and a drive wheel is cut off to a connected state in which the driving power transmission path is connected, the output control system comprising:

an upper limit setting section which sets an upper limit value of an output of the drive source, which increases with an increase in an output command, to a starting control upper limit value while the output control system is performing a starting control, the starting control upper limit value being lower than a predetermined limit value set when the starting control is not selected; and

a wheelie determiner section which determines whether or not a wheelie is occurring in the vehicle while the output control system is performing the starting control,

wherein when the wheelie determiner section determines that the wheelie is occurring in the vehicle while the output control system is performing the starting control, the output control system performs a wheelie suppressing control for suppressing the output of the drive source while maintaining the starting control in such a manner that the output becomes less when the wheelie determiner section determines that the wheelie is occurring in the vehicle than before the wheelie determiner section determines that the wheelie is occurring in the vehicle.

2. The output control system according to claim 1 ,

wherein a wheelie control rule used to suppress the output of the drive source when the wheelie determiner section determines that the wheelie is occurring in the vehicle when the starting control is not selected is identical to a wheelie control rule used to suppress the output of the drive source when the wheelie determiner section determines that the wheelie is occurring in the vehicle while the output control system is performing the starting control.

3. The output control system according to claim 1 ,

wherein the drive source is an engine, and an amount of intake air to be supplied to the engine is controlled to suppress the output of the engine in the starting control and the wheelie suppressing control.

4. The output control system according to claim 3 ,

wherein a base value of a target value of the amount of intake air is set depending on whether or not the starting control is performed, and

wherein in the wheelie suppressing control, an amount of a compensation for reducing the base value is greater as an amount of the wheelie is greater.

5. The output control system according to claim 4 ,

wherein the base value of the amount of intake air and the amount of the compensation for reducing the base value are set based on an engine speed and an accelerator command input by a rider.

6. The output control system according to claim 3

wherein in the starting control, a control for suppressing the output of the engine by ceasing combustion in a cylinder is performed in addition to controlling the amount of intake air, and

wherein in the wheelie suppressing control, the control for suppressing the output of the engine by ceasing the combustion in the cylinder is performed in addition to controlling the amount of intake air.

7. The output control system according to claim 6 ,

wherein in the starting control, a control for reducing fuel is performed as the control for suppressing the output of the engine by ceasing the combustion, and

wherein in the wheelie suppressing control, a control for reducing ignition is performed as the control for suppressing the output of the engine by ceasing the combustion.

8. The output control system according to claim 1 ,

wherein when a traction control condition is met while the output control system is performing the starting control, the output control system performs a traction control for suppressing the output of the drive source while maintaining the starting control in such a manner that the output becomes less when the traction control condition is met than before the traction control condition is met.

9. The output control system according to claim 1 ,

wherein the starting control is a control initiated before traveling of the vehicle starts.

10. The output control system according to claim 1 ,

wherein the starting control is initiated in a state in which the drive wheel is in a stopped state.

11. The output control system according to claim 1 ,

wherein the starting control is initiated in a state in which the drive system is in the no-load state.

12. The output control system according to claim 1 ,

wherein the starting control is a control which enables the vehicle to be started rapidly, and drives the drive source in a driving range in which maximum torque is generated.

13. The output control system according to claim 1 ,

wherein the starting control is a control for maintaining the output of the drive source within a first upper limit range set to include the starting control upper limit value, in a case where the output command is within a predetermined range including a value indicating a fully open state of an accelerator.

14. An output control system incorporated in a vehicle including a clutch device which shifts a drive system from a no-load state in which a driving power transmission path provided between a drive source and a drive wheel is cut off to a connected state in which the driving power transmission path is connected, the output control system comprising:

an upper limit setting section which sets an upper limit value of an output of the drive source to a starting control upper limit value while the output control system is performing a starting control which is a control initiated to start traveling of the vehicle before traveling of the vehicle starts, and is a control for maintaining the output of the drive source within a first upper limit range set to include the starting control upper limit value, the starting control upper limit value being lower than a predetermined limit value set when the starting control is not selected; and

a wheelie determiner section which determines whether or not a wheelie is occurring in the vehicle while the output control system is performing the starting control,

wherein when the wheelie determiner section determines that the wheelie is occurring in the vehicle while the output control system is performing the starting control, the output control system performs a wheelie suppressing control for suppressing the output of the drive source while maintaining the starting control in such a manner that the output becomes less when the wheelie determiner section determines that the wheelie is occurring in the vehicle than before the wheelie determiner section determines that the wheelie is occurring in the vehicle.

15. An output control system incorporated in a vehicle including a clutch device which shifts a drive system from a no-load state in which a driving power transmission path provided between a drive source and a drive wheel is cut off to a connected state in which the driving power transmission path is connected, the output control system comprising:

an upper limit setting section which sets an upper limit value of an output of the drive source to a starting control upper limit value while the output control system is performing a starting control which is a control performed for rapidly starting the vehicle, and is a control for maintaining the output of the drive source within a first upper limit range set to include the starting control upper limit value, the starting control upper limit value being lower than a predetermined limit value set when the starting control is not selected; and

a wheelie determiner section which determines whether or not a wheelie is occurring in the vehicle while the output control system is performing the starting control,
