Abstract

A device is provided for the mutual fixing of two components, which are interconnected via a flanged joint, for preventing a relative movement of the components in relation to each other in the connecting plane of the flanged joint. The device includes a key which engages in both components in a form-fitting manner in the region of the flanged joint. A simplified and flexible application is achieved by the key being guided in one of the components by means of a precision fit, whereas in the other of the components the form fit can be adjusted by adding shims.

Claims (11)

1 .- 6 . (canceled)

7 . A method for connecting together casing components of a casing of a gas turbine, the method comprising:

providing two finish-machined casing components, each casing component including a flange, the flanges forming a flanged joint, wherein the casing components have a first recess formed in an outer surface of a first flange of a first casing component of the two casing components and a second recess formed in an outer surface of a second flange of a second casing component of the two casing components, wherein the first and second recesses face each other across the flanged joint;

inserting a finish-machined key into the first and second recesses in a radial direction toward a machine axis of the gas turbine, wherein after insertion into the recesses the key is in contact with at least two sides of the first recess and the key inserted alone being displacable in the second recess in a circumferential direction in relation to the first casing component; and

inserting shims in the second recess to adjust the fit of the key in the second recess for preventing relative movement of the first and second casing components in a connecting plane of the flanged joint.

8 . The method according to claim 7 , comprising:

inserting the key substantially orthogonal to the flanged joint.

9 . The method as claimed in claim 7 , comprising:

arranging the key on an outer periphery of the flanged joint.

10 . The method as claimed in claim 7 , comprising:

arranging the key to extend between the components in a direction parallel with the machine axis.
