Abstract

An isothiocyanate functional surfactant formulation, wherein the protonated form of said surfactant is represented by the following chemical structure: wherein X includes an integer ranging from approximately 1 to approximately 25, and wherein Y includes an integer ranging from approximately 6 to approximately 25; and an emollient.

Claims (15)

1. An isothiocyanate functional surfactant formulation, comprising:

a surfactant or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein the protonated form of said surfactant is represented by the following chemical structure:

wherein R 1 is selected from the group consisting of an alkyl group containing 1 to 25 carbon atom(s); wherein R 2 is selected from the group consisting of NCS; and wherein R 3 -R 5 are each independently selected from the group consisting of H; OH; and an alkyl, and alkanoyl group containing 1 to 25 carbon atom(s) with the proviso that at least one of R 3 -R 5 is selected from the group consisting of an alkyl, and alkanoyl, group containing 8 to 25 carbon atoms; and

2,6,10,15,19,23-hexamethyltetracosane.

2. The isothiocyanate functional surfactant formulation according to claim 1 , wherein the concentration of the isothiocyanate functional surfactant ranges from 0.00025% by weight to 0.0005% by weight.

3. An isothiocyanate functional surfactant formulation, comprising:

a surfactant or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein the protonated form of said surfactant is represented by the following chemical structure:

wherein X comprises an integer ranging from 1 to 25, and wherein Y comprises an integer ranging from 6 to 25; and

2,6,10,15,19,23-hexamethyltetracosane.

4. The isothiocyanate functional surfactant formulation according to claim 3 , wherein the concentration of the isothiocyanate functional surfactant ranges from 0.00025% by weight to 0.0005% by weight.

5. An isothiocyanate functional surfactant formulation, comprising:

a surfactant or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein the protonated form of said surfactant is represented by the following chemical structure:

and

2,6,10,15,19,23-hexamethyltetracosane.

6. The isothiocyanate functional surfactant formulation according to claim 5 , wherein the concentration of the isothiocyanate functional surfactant ranges from 0.00025% by weight to 0.0005% by weight.
