Abstract

A system and methods for mapping price and location of tickets in an event venue are described. An interactive event venue seat map is provided by a network-based system that implements an online marketplace for tickets for upcoming events. The interactive event venue seat map enables sellers to view pricing information and transaction information for both sold and current event listings for any section or zone in an event venue. The interactive event venue seat map allows sellers to browse and click on sections to see sold and listed data for any section and zone in the event venue and to compare a proposed sale price to available pricing information of sold and current event listings in comparable sections. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the selling price is based, at least in part, on sold ticket data associated with a seat in the selected section or zone of the venue.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the graphical user interface includes information about a number of sold tickets for the event.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the graphical user interface includes information about tickets for the event that are currently listed for sale.

6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving input that alters the selling price.

7. The method of claim 6 , wherein the input is received in response to the visual indicator being displayed.

providing a visual indicator on the graphical user interface, the visual indicator providing a notification of whether the selling price for the ticket is comparable with a selling price of a second ticket that has a market value similar to a market value of the ticket, wherein the visual indicator on the graphical user interface includes a lowest sold price of the second ticket, an average sold price of the second ticket, a highest sold price of the second ticket, a rising and falling pricing trend information within a selected period of time, and a percentage change in selling rate data for the selected section or zone of the venue.

9. The system of claim 8 wherein, in the method, automatically determining the selling price comprises receiving sold ticket data associated with a seat in the selected section or zone of the venue.

10. The system of claim 8 wherein, in the method, listing the ticket for sale on the graphical user interface includes listing information about a number of sold tickets for the event.

11. The system of claim 8 wherein, in the method, listing the ticket for sale on the graphical user interface includes listing information about tickets for the event that are currently listed for sale.

12. The system of claim 8 wherein, in the method, providing the visual indicator comprises providing the visual indicator on an overlay.

13. The system of claim 8 wherein the method further comprising instructions for comprises altering the selling price based, at least in part, on received input.

14. A method, comprising:

receiving, from a computing device, information about a ticket for an event at a venue; automatically determining a selling price for the ticket, the selling price being based, at

least in part, on a location of a seat within a selected section or zone of the venue and on selling information associated with other tickets within the selected section or zone;

listing the ticket for sale on a graphical user interface in response to received input, the graphical user interface including an interactive event venue map that displays ticket information in response to a selection of at least a portion of the interactive event venue map received via the graphical user interface; and

providing a visual indicator on the interactive event venue map, the visual indicator providing a notification of whether the selling price for the ticket is comparable with a selling price of a second ticket in the venue having a similar location and that have a market value similar to a market value of the ticket, wherein the visual indicator on the interactive event venue map includes a lowest selling price of a second ticket, an average sold price of the second ticket, a highest sold price of the second ticket, a rising and falling pricing trend information within a selected period of time, and a percentage change in selling rate data for the selected section or zone of the venue.

15. The method of claim 14 , further comprising showing a location of the ticket on the interactive event venue map.

16. The method of claim 14 , wherein the selling price is based, at least in part, on sold ticket data associated with a seat in the selected section or zone in the venue.

17. The method of claim 14 , wherein the graphical user interface includes information about a number of sold tickets for the event.

18. The method of claim 14 , wherein the graphical user interface includes information about tickets for the event that are currently listed for sale.
