USER INTERFACE SYSTEMS FOR HEAD-WORN COMPUTERS
Head worn computers include a proximity detection system positioned to identify when the head-worn computer has been mounted on a user's head and a processor adapted to be in a sleep mode when the head-worn computer is not mounted on the user's head, the processor monitoring the proximity detection system while in the sleep mode. The processor may be further adapted to wake and turn on a see-through computer display mounted in the head-worn computer when the proximity sensor detects the user's head.
1 . A head-worn computer, comprising:
a proximity detection system positioned to identify when the head-worn computer has been mounted on a user's head;
a processor adapted to be in a sleep mode when the head-worn computer is not mounted on the user's head, the processor monitoring the proximity detection system while in the sleep mode; and
the processor further adapted to wake and turn on a see-through computer display mounted in the head-worn computer when the proximity sensor detects the user's head.
2 . The head-worn computer of claim 1 , wherein the proximity detection system is positioned to detect the presence of the user's forehead.
3 . The head-worn computer of claim 1 , wherein the proximity detection system is mounted in an arm of the head-worn computer.
