Abstract

A beverage brewing product for brewing a sweetened beverage is disclosed which produces a sweetened beverage solution that can be mixed with a diluting liquid and which comprises at least one water permeable sieve wherein beverage material and granulated sweetener are contained. The beverage material and sweetener are brewed and dissolved during steeping in hot water to produce a sweetened beverage solution. The beverage solution, if concentrated, is then mixed with a proportioned amount of diluting liquid to make a consistently sweet beverage. This beverage brewing product may be used to produce a variety of consistently sweetened beverages, including tea, coffee, and lemonade.

Claims (28)

1. A beverage brewing product for producing a concentrated solution for mixing with a proportioned amount of water to make a sweetened beverage comprising:

at least one water permeable sieve for placement in a container;

a flavored concentrate and granulated sugar contained in said at least one sieve;

wherein said granulated sugar includes particles having a size in the range of U.S. mesh sieve nos. 3 to 35;

said permeable sieve having openings being generally smaller than the size of the particles of said concentrate and said sugar for the retention of said particles of said sugar and said concentrate; and

so that said particles of said sugar are dissolved in said container during steeping in water and a concentrated solution is produced to be diluted with a proportioned amount of water for making said sweetened beverage.

2. The beverage brewing product of claim 1 wherein said at least one sieve comprises a first compartment containing said flavored concentrate and a second compartment containing said sugar.

3. The beverage brewing product of claim 2 wherein said first compartment is disposed on top of said second compartment when placed in said container.

4. The beverage brewing product of claim 2 wherein said second compartment is disposed on top of said first compartment when placed in said container.

5. The beverage brewing product of claim 2 further including a fold seam between said first and second compartments so one of said compartments folds onto the other during steeping.

6. The beverage brewing product of claim 1 wherein said at least one sieve an open filter.

7. The beverage brewing product of claim 1 wherein said at least one sieve comprises a material selected from a group consisting of polymer, cotton, cellulose, and metal.

8. The beverage brewing product of claim 1 wherein said sieve contains a blend ratio of said flavored concentrate to said sugar in the range of 1:3 to 1:80 by weight.

9. The beverage brewing product of claim 1 wherein said at least one sieve comprises an open filter and a pouch.

10. The beverage brewing product of claim 9 wherein said open filter and said pouch contain one of said flavored concentrate and said sugar.

11. The beverage brewing product of claim 9 wherein the position of said open filter relative to said pouch is selected from the group consisting of on top and underneath.

12. The beverage brewing product of claim 1 further including tea particles contained in said at least one sieve.

13. The beverage brewing product of claim 1 wherein said sieve contains a blend ratio of said flavored concentrate to said sugar granules in the range of 1:3 to 1:80 by weight.

14. The beverage brewing product of claim 1 wherein said sweetened beverage is of a flavor selected from the group consisting of lemonade, limeade, orangeade, cherryade, cranberry, peach, mango, raspberry, blackberry, and apple.

15. The beverage brewing product of claim 1 wherein said proportioned amount of water comprises ice to quickly cool and dilute said concentrated solution and produce said sweetened beverage.

16. The beverage brewing product of claim 1 wherein said granulated sugar particles comprise agglomerated sugar granules.

17. A beverage brewing product for producing a sweetened beverage comprising:

at least one water permeable sieve for placement in a container;

beverage material and granulated sugar contained in said at least one sieve;

wherein said granulated sugar includes particles having a size in the range of U.S. mesh sieve nos. 3 to 35;

said permeable sieve having openings being generally smaller than the size of the particles of said beverage material and said sugar for the retention of said particles of said sugar and said beverage material; and

so that said particles of said sugar are dissolved in said container during steeping in water and said sugar beverage is produced.

18. The beverage brewing product of claim 17 wherein said granulated sugar particles comprise agglomerated sugar granules.
