Abstract

A material for decorative wrap including a sheet of non-corrugated material having a first side, a second side, a first edge, and a second edge; a plurality of scores formed into the first side extending from the first edge to the second edge; and a plurality of scores formed into the second side extending from the first edge to the second edge. The plurality of scores formed into the first side and the plurality of scores formed into the second side may alternate such that every other score is formed into the first side and the remaining scores are formed into the second side. Each score formed into the first and second sides may extend substantially perpendicular to at least one of the first and second edges.

Claims (30)

1. A decorative wrap configured for wrapping around a non-decorative support of goods, the decorative wrap comprising:

a rolled sheet of non-corrugated material, the sheet of non-corrugated material having a first side, a second side, a first edge, and a second edge, wherein a height of the sheet of non-corrugated material measured from the first edge to the second edge is between about 6 inches to about 16 inches, and a length of the sheet of non-corrugated material measured parallel to the first or second edge is longer than the height;

a plurality of scores formed into the first side, each score extending for at least a portion of the distance between the first edge and the second edge;

a plurality of scores formed into the second side, each score extending for at least a portion of the distance between the first edge and the second edge; and

a graphic printed on at least one of the first and second sides;

wherein the plurality of scores are formed by deformation of the non-corrugated material to impart stiffness to the non-corrugated material; and

wherein the plurality of scores are spaced to provide a plurality of scored locations at which the sheet of non-corrugated material can be selectively folded to form a corner in the non-corrugated material.

2. The decorative wrap of claim 1 , wherein the sheet of non-corrugated material is paper-based.

3. The decorative wrap of claim 1 , wherein the sheet of non-corrugated material is a synthetic.

4. The decorative wrap of claim 2 , wherein the plurality of scores formed into the first side and the plurality of scores formed into the second side alternate such that every other score is formed into the first side and the remaining scores are formed into the second side.

5. The decorative wrap of claim 2 , wherein at least a subset of the plurality of scores formed into the first and second sides are each a continuous indentation extending from the first edge to the second edge.

6. The decorative wrap of claim 2 , wherein at least a subset of the plurality of scores formed into the first and second sides are each a series of discontinuous indentations, the series extending from the first edge to the second edge.

7. The decorative wrap of claim 5 , wherein each score of the subset of the plurality of scores formed into the first and second sides extends substantially perpendicular to at least one of the first and second edges.

8. The decorative wrap of claim 5 , wherein each score of the subset of the plurality of scores formed into the first and second sides extends in a direction that is not perpendicular to the first and second edges.

9. The decorative wrap of claim 1 , wherein the sheet of non-corrugated material is single-ply.

10. The decorative wrap of claim 1 , wherein a thickness of the sheet of non-corrugated material is between about 8 point to about 24 point.

11. The decorative wrap of claim 1 , wherein the length of the sheet of non-corrugated material is between about 12 feet to about 100 feet.

12. The decorative wrap of claim 1 , wherein a spacing between consecutive scores of the plurality of scores formed into the first and second sides is consistent.

13. The decorative wrap of claim 12 , wherein the spacing between consecutive scores of the plurality of scores formed into the first and second sides is 5/16 inches or greater.

14. A decorative wrap configured for wrapping around a non-decorative support of goods, the decorative wrap comprising:

a rolled sheet of non-corrugated material, the sheet of non-corrugated material having a first side, a second side, a first edge, and a second edge, wherein a height of the sheet of non-corrugated material measured from the first edge to the second edge is between about 6 inches to about 16 inches, and a length of the sheet of non-corrugated material measured parallel to the first or second edge is longer than the height;

a plurality of scores formed by deformation of the non-corrugated material into at least one of the first and second sides to impart stiffness to the non-corrugated material, each score extending for at least a portion of the distance between the first edge and the second edge; and

a graphic printed on at least one of the first and second sides.

15. The decorative wrap of claim 14 , wherein the sheet of non-corrugated material is paper-based.

16. The decorative wrap of claim 15 , wherein the sheet of non-corrugated material is single-ply.

17. The decorative wrap of claim 15 , wherein at least a subset of the plurality of scores formed into the at least one of the first and second sides are each a continuous indentation extending from the first edge to the second edge.

18. The decorative wrap of claim 15 , wherein at least a subset of the plurality of scores formed into the at least one of the first and second sides are each a series of discontinuous indentations, the series extending from the first edge to the second edge.

19. The decorative wrap of claim 17 , wherein each score of the subset of the plurality of scores formed into the at least one of the first and second sides extends substantially perpendicular to at least one of the first and second edges.

20. The decorative wrap of claim 14 , wherein a spacing between consecutive scores of the plurality of scores formed into at least one of the first and second sides is consistent and is 5/16 inches or greater.

21. The decorative wrap of claim 16 , wherein the plurality of scores are spaced to provide a plurality of scored locations at which the sheet of non-corrugated material can be selectively folded to form a corner in the non-corrugated material.
