Abstract

To provide a working medium for heat cycle, of which combustibility is suppressed, which has less influence over the ozone layer, which has less influence over global warming and which provides a heat cycle system excellent in the cycle performance (efficiency and capacity), and a heat cycle system, of which the safety is secured, and which is excellent in the cycle performance (efficiency and capacity). A working medium for heat cycle comprising 1-chloro-2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene is employed for a heat cycle system (such as a Rankine cycle system, a heat pump cycle system, a refrigerating cycle system 10 or a heat transport system).

Claims (10)

1. A composition, which comprises a working medium comprising 1-chloro-2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene in an amount of at least 60 mass % in the working medium (100 mass %), a polyol ester oil in an amount of 10-100 parts by mass based on the working medium (100 parts by mass), and if the working medium comprises less than 100 mass % of 1-chloro-2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene, the working medium comprises one or more of 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane (HFC-245fa), 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane (HFC-134a), pentafluoroethane (HFC-125), difluoromethane (HFC-32) and 1,1-difluoroethane (HFC-152a) for a total of 100 mass % of the working medium.

2. The composition according to claim 1 , wherein the polyol ester oil is present in a content of 20-50 parts by mass based on the working medium (100 parts by mass).

3. The composition according to claim 1 , wherein the polyol ester oil is an ester of a diol with a C 6-20 fatty acid.

4. The composition according to claim 3 , wherein the diol is selected from ethylene glycol, 1,3-propanediol, propylene glycol, 1,4-butanediol, 1,2-butandiol, 1,5-pentadiol, neopentyl glycol, 1,7-heptanediol and 1,12-dodecanediol, and the C 6-20 fatty acid is selected from hexanoic acid, heptanoic acid, octanoic acid, nonanoic acid, decanoic acid, undecanoic acid, dodecanoic acid, eicosanoic acid, oleic acid, and a neo acid having a quaternary α carbon atom.

5. The composition according to claim 1 , wherein the polyol ester oil is an ester of a polyol having from 3 to 20 hydroxy groups with a C 6-20 fatty acid.

6. The composition according to claim 5 , wherein the polyol is selected from trimethylolethane, trimethylolpropane, trimethylolbutane, pentaerythritol, glycerol, sorbitol, sorbitan and a sorbitoglycerin condensate, and the C 6-20 fatty acid is selected from hexanoic acid, heptanoic acid, octanoic acid nonanoic acid, decanoic acid, undecanoic acid, dodecanoic acid, eicosanoic acid, oleic acid, and a neo acid having a quaternary α carbon atom.

7. The composition according to claim 1 , wherein the polyol ester oil has a free hydroxy group.

8. The composition according to claim 1 , wherein the polyol ester oil is an ester of a hindered alcohol.

9. The composition according to claim 1 , wherein the polyol ester is an ester of neopentyl glycol, trimethylolethane, trimethylolpropane, trimethylolbutane or pentaerythritol.

10. The composition according to claim 1 , wherein the polyol ester is selected from trimethylolpropane tripelargonate, pentaerythritol 2-ethylhexanoate and pentaerythritol tetrapelargonate.
