Abstract

An energy composition includes a methylated xanthine, a choline derivative, and at least one flavorant in a sufficient amount to render the energy composition palatable. The energy composition may also include vitamins, amino acids, enzymes, preservatives, and the like.

Claims (20)

1. A low-caffeine edible energy composition consisting of:

caffeine in an amount from about 0.00008 g/ml to about 0.0004 g/ml;

a choline derivative in an amount from about 0.0004 g/ml to about 0.009 g/ml;

at least three members selected from the group consisting of vitamin B6, vitamin B12; folic acid, niacin, N-acetyl L-tyrosine, L-phenylalanine and combinations thereof;

N-acetyl L-tyrosine, L-phenylalanine

glucuronolactone;

taurine;

an acidulant selected from the group consisting of malic acid and citric acid and combinations thereof; and

sucralose and at least one preservative.

2. The energy composition of claim 1 wherein said caffeine is present in an amount from about 0.0001 g/ml to about 0.0003 g/ml.

3. The energy composition of claim 1 wherein said choline derivative is present in an amount from about 0.0008 g/ml to about 0.007 g/ml.

4. The energy composition of claim 1 wherein said choline derivative comprises citicoline.

5. The energy compositio of claim 1 wherein said choline derivative is choline citrate.

6. The energy composition of claim 1 wherein said N-acetyl L-tyrosine is present in an amount from about 0.001 to about 0.01 g/ml.

7. The energy composition of claim 1 wherein said L-phenylalanine is present in an amount from about 0.001 to about 0.008 g/ml.

8. The energy composition of claim 1 wherein said taurine is present in an amount from about 0.002 to about 0.016 g/ml.

9. The energy composition of claim 1 wherein said glucuronolactone is present in an amount from about 0.001 to about 0.012 g/ml.

10. the energy composition of claim 1 wherein said folic acid is present in an amount from about 0.001 to about 0.0002 g/ml.

11. The energy composition of claim 1 wherein said vitamin B6 is present in an amount from about 0.0003 to about 0.001 glml.

12. The energy composition of claim 1 wherein said vitamin B12 is present in an amount from about 0.000001 to about 0.00003 g/ml.
