Abstract

A device is disclosed that may identify a frame received from an access point. The device may cause to buffer the payload field. The device may determine that a first payload, in a first payload field, corresponds to a multiband link aggregation (MBLA) Ethertype based at least in part on a logical link layer controller (LLC) field and a subnetwork access protocol (SNAP) Ethertype MBLA field in the first payload, wherein the first payload is within the payload field. The device may cause to remove a LLC MBLA header field from the first payload field. The device may cause to buffer a packet in a reordering queue, wherein the packet is in a second payload field that is in the first payload field. The device may order the packet among a plurality of packets in the reordering queue.

Claims (45)

1. A device, the device comprising:

memory and processing circuitry configured to:

identify a frame received from an access point, wherein the frame comprises a media access control (MAC) header field, a frame check sequence (FCS) field, and a payload field;

cause to buffer the payload field;

determine that a first payload, in a first payload field, corresponds to a multiband link aggregation (MBLA) Ethertype based at least in part on a logical link layer controller (LLC) field and a subnetwork access protocol (SNAP) Ethertype MBLA field in the first payload, wherein the first payload is within the payload field;

cause to remove a LLC MBLA header field from the first payload field;

cause to buffer a packet in a reordering queue, wherein the packet is in a second payload field that is in the first payload field; and

order the packet among a plurality of packets in the reordering queue.

2. The device of claim 1 , wherein the MAC header field further comprises a destination address (DA) field and source address (SA) field.

3. The device of claim 1 , wherein the first payload further comprises a multi-band proxy address.

4. The device of claim 1 , wherein the first payload further comprises a multiband sequence number (MBSN) field and a traffic identifier (TID) field.

5. The device of claim 4 , wherein the

order of the packet among the plurality of packets in the reordering queue is based at least in part on the MBSN field.

6. The device of claim 4 , wherein the processing circuitry is further configured to:

determine a traffic flow based at least in part on the TID field.

7. The device of claim 4 , wherein the processing circuitry is further configured to:

determine a quality of service (QoS) based at least in part on the TID field.

8. The device of claim 3 , wherein the processing circuitry is further configured to:

determine that the access point is using a non-stateless link aggregation method.

9. The device of claim 1 , further comprising at least one transceiver.

10. The device of claim 9 , further comprising at least one antenna coupled to the at least one transceiver, wherein the at least one transceiver operates at 5 GHz or 60 GHz.

11. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-executable instructions which, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:

identifying a frame received from an access point, wherein the frame comprises a media access control (MAC) header field, a frame check sequence (FCS) field, and a payload field;

causing to buffer the payload field;

determining that a first payload, in a first payload field, correspond to a multiband link aggregation (MBLA) Ethertype based at least in part on a logical link layer controller (LLC) field and a subnetwork access protocol (SNAP) Ethertype MBLA field in the first payload, wherein the first payload is within the payload field;

causing to remove a LLC MBLA header field from the first payload field;

causing to buffer a packet in a reordering queue, wherein the packet is in a second payload field that is in the first payload field; and

ordering the packet among a plurality of packets in the reordering queue.

12. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the MAC header field further comprises a destination address (DA) field and a source address (SA) field.

13. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the first payload further comprises a multi-band proxy address.

14. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 13 , wherein the first payload further comprises a multiband sequence number (MBSN) field and a traffic identifier (TID) field.

15. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 14 , wherein the ordering of the packet among the plurality of packets in the reordering queue is based at least in part on the MBSN field.

16. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 14 , wherein the computer-executable instructions further cause the processor to perform operations comprising:

determining a traffic flow based at least in part on the TID field.

17. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 13 , wherein the computer-executable instructions further cause the processor to perform operations comprising:

determining that the access point is using a non-stateless link aggregation method.

18. A method comprising:

identifying a frame received from an access point, wherein the frame comprises a media access control (MAC) header field, a frame check sequence (FCS) field, and a payload field;

causing to buffer the payload field;

determining that a first payload, in a first payload field, corresponds to a multiband link aggregation (MBLA) Ethertype based at least in part on a logical link layer controller (LLC) field and a subnetwork access protocol (SNAP) Ethertype MBLA field in the first payload, wherein the first payload is within the payload field;

causing to remove a LLC MBLA header field from the first payload field;

causing to buffer a packet in a reordering queue, wherein the packet is in a second payload field that is in the first payload field; and

ordering the packet among a plurality of packets in the reordering queue.

19. The method of claim 18 , wherein the first payload further comprises a multiband sequence number (MBSN) field and a traffic identifier (TID) field.

20. The method of claim 19 , wherein the ordering the packet among the plurality of packets in the reordering queue based at least in part on the MBSN field.
