Abstract

This disclosure concerns a system and method for determining, via a processor, a designation of an mobile information handling system as a master mobile information handling system within a wireless neighborhood based on power level, radio capabilities, and radio frequency range to a cluster of mobile information handling systems and scanning a plurality of radio channels in a shared communication frequency band for base transceiver station (BTS) systems operating a first wireless link protocol and a second wireless link protocol within communication range of the mobile information handling system to detect a BTS load and preparing a radiofrequency band local QoS report for the first wireless link protocol and the second wireless link protocol in the wireless neighborhood for broadcast on an unlicensed communication frequency band to the cluster of mobile information handling systems.

5. The system of claim 4 , wherein the wireless adapter broadcasts the radiofrequency band local QoS report on an unlicensed advertising channel periodically.

6. The system of claim 1 further comprising:

the processor determining if the power state of the master mobile information handling system has fallen below a threshold level; and

transferring the RF band local QoS report to a next master mobile information handling system in the cluster.

7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the radiofrequency band local QoS report includes a ranked plurality of the BTS systems in the wireless neighborhood.

8. The system of claim 1 further comprising:

the processor determining if a location of the master mobile information handling system has departed the wireless neighborhood; and

storing the RF band local QoS report at a remote database.

9. A computer implemented method comprising:

determining, via a processor executing code instructions, a designation of an mobile information handling system as a master mobile information handling system within a wireless neighborhood based on power level, radio capabilities, and radio frequency range to a cluster of mobile information handling systems;

scanning, via one or more radio scanning modems, a plurality of radio channels in a shared communication frequency band for base transceiver station (BTS) systems operating a first wireless link protocol and a second wireless link protocol within communication range of the mobile information handling system;

detecting a BTS load for each detected BTS system operating on each of the plurality of radio channels; and

preparing a radiofrequency band local QoS report for a plurality of detected BTS systems for the first wireless link protocol and the second wireless link protocol in the shared communication frequency band of the wireless neighborhood for broadcast on an unlicensed communication frequency band to the cluster of mobile information handling systems,

determining if the power state of the master mobile information handling system has fallen below a threshold level; and

re-designating another mobile information handling system in the cluster as a master mobile information handling system.

13. The method of claim 9 further comprising:

determining if the power state of the master mobile information handling system has fallen below a threshold level; and

storing the RF band local QoS report at a remote database.

14. The method of claim 9 , wherein the first wireless link protocol is a WLAN protocol and second wireless link protocols is an unlicensed small cell WWAN protocol.

15. The method of claim 9 further comprising:

determining if a location of the master mobile information handling system has departed the wireless neighborhood; and

transferring the RF band local QoS report to a next master mobile information handling system in the cluster.

16. A computer implemented method comprising:

determining, via a processor executing code instructions, a designation of an mobile information handling system as a master mobile information handling system within a wireless neighborhood based on power level, radio capabilities, and radio frequency range to a cluster of mobile information handling systems;
