Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a head-worn apparatus, comprising: a frame adapted to be mounted to a head of a user; a light emitting system positioned within the frame to provide light to an eye of the user; a sound system adapted to provide audio to the user; a haptic system positioned within the frame to provide haptic feedback to the user; and a processor adapted to control the lighting system, audio system and haptic system in a coordinated pattern of light, sound and haptics that causes a mental-health therapeutic stimulus provided to the user, whereby the user experiences an improvement in mental performance based on the coordinated pattern.

Claims (28)

1. A wearable head device, comprising:

a transmissive display adapted to present, to a user, a view of the user's environment;

a frame adapted to be mounted to a head of the user;

a light emitting system positioned within the frame to provide a light signal to the user;

a sound system adapted to provide an audio signal to the user;

a haptic system positioned within the frame to provide a haptic signal to the user; and

a processor adapted to present, via two or more of the light emitting system, the audio system, and the haptic system, a therapeutic stimulus, concurrent with the presentation of the view of the user's environment,

wherein presenting the therapeutic stimulus comprises one or more of:

presenting, to the user via the lighting system, a light signal having a dominant frequency comprising a first frequency;

presenting, to the user via the audio system, an audio signal having a dominant frequency comprising the first frequency; and

presenting, to the user via the haptic system, a haptic signal having a dominant frequency comprising the first frequency, and

wherein concurrently presenting the two or more of the light signal, the audio signal, and the haptic signal comprises presenting the two or more of the light signal, the audio signal, and the haptic signal such that one of the light signal, the audio signal, and the haptic signal is not synchronized with respect to another one of the light signal, the audio signal, and the haptic signal.

2. The wearable head device of claim 1 , wherein the first frequency is 40 hertz or a multiple thereof.

3. The wearable head device of claim 1 , wherein presenting the therapeutic stimulus comprises pulsing one or more of the light signal, the audio signal, and the haptic signal at the dominant frequency.

4. The wearable head device of claim 1 , wherein presenting the therapeutic stimulus comprises modulating one or more of the light signal, the audio signal, and the haptic signal based on one or more of an identity of the user, a geographic location, a time of day, a time of year, and a weather condition.

5. The wearable head device of claim 1 , wherein the processor is further adapted to evaluate a performance of the user in response to the presentation of the therapeutic stimulus.

6. The wearable head device of claim 5 , wherein evaluating the performance of the user comprises eye imaging or motion detection of the user.

7. The wearable head device of claim 1 , wherein the processor is further adapted to present the therapeutic stimulus in response to a determination that the user is approaching a time zone boundary.

8. The wearable head device of claim 1 , wherein the processor is further adapted to:

determine a weather condition; and

present the therapeutic stimulus in response to a determination that the determined weather condition comprises a weather condition to which the user is sensitive.

9. The wearable head device of claim 1 , wherein the processor is further adapted to:

determine a time of year; and

present the therapeutic stimulus in response to a determination that the determined time of year comprises a time of year to which the user is sensitive.

10. The wearable head device of claim 1 , wherein the processor is further adapted to present a highlighted visual element via the transmissive display, concurrently with presenting the therapeutic stimulus.

11. The wearable head device of claim 1 , wherein the processor is further adapted to:

receive, via a sensor of the wearable head device, sensor input indicative of a vital sign of the user; and

identify, based on the sensor input, a change in the vital sign in response to the presentation of the therapeutic stimulus.
