Abstract

An electronic device includes a power receiving unit and a secondary battery. The electronic device can send an instruction to an outside to stop power transmission, and operates by a discharge current of the secondary battery. In a case where the secondary battery is charged and a voltage of the secondary battery becomes higher than a first threshold and lower than a second threshold larger than the first threshold, charging of the secondary battery is stopped without sending the instruction to stop the power transmission, and after an elapse of a predetermined period of time, the charging of the secondary battery is restarted. When the voltage of the secondary battery thereafter becomes higher than the second threshold, the instruction to stop the power transmission is sent, and the charging of the secondary battery is stopped.

Claims (23)

1 . An electronic device comprising:

a power receiver; and

a secondary battery,

wherein the electronic device is capable of sending an instruction outside of the electronic device to stop power transmission to the power receiver, wherein

when the secondary battery is charged using the electric power received by the power receiver and a voltage of the secondary battery is lower than a threshold, the electronic device stops charging of the secondary battery without sending the instruction to stop power transmission to the power receiver, and after a period of time restarts the charging of the secondary battery, and

when the secondary battery is charged using the electric power received by the power receiver and a voltage of the secondary battery is higher than the threshold, the electronic device sends the instruction to stop power transmission to the power receiver and the power receiver stops receiving the electric power.

2 . The electronic device according to claim 1 , further comprising a processor, which controls operation of the power receiver and the secondary battery and controls sending of the instruction to stop power transmission.

3 . The electronic device according to claim 1 , wherein when the secondary battery is charged using the electric power received by the power receiver and a voltage of the secondary battery is lower than the threshold, the electronic device sets a discharge current of the secondary battery to be equal to or smaller than a current level.

4 . The electronic device according to claim 1 , wherein the power receiver comprises an electromagnetic coil.

5 . The electronic device according to claim 1 , wherein the instruction to stop power transmission is sent through the power receiver.

6 . The electronic device according to claim 1 wherein the power receiver and the secondary battery are located in a battery pack.

7 . An electronic device charging system comprising:

a charger which includes a power transmitter; and

an electronic device which includes a power receiver and a secondary battery,

wherein the electronic device is capable of sending an instruction outside of the electronic device to stop power transmission to the power receiver, wherein

when the secondary battery is charged using the electric power received by the power receiver and a voltage of the secondary battery is lower than a threshold, the electronic device stops charging of the secondary battery without sending the instruction to stop power transmission to the power receiver, and after a period of time restarts the charging of the secondary battery, and

when the secondary battery is charged using the electric power received by the power receiver and a voltage of the secondary battery is higher than the threshold, the electronic device sends, to the charger, the instruction to stop power transmission to the power receiver and the power receiver stops receiving the electric power.

8 . The electronic device charging system according to claim 7 , wherein the electronic device further includes a processor, which controls operation of the power receiver and the secondary battery and controls sending of the instruction to stop power transmission.

9 . The electronic device charging system according to claim 7 , wherein the power transmitter of the charger transmits electric power, and is capable of stopping power transmission in accordance with an external instruction to stop power transmission

10 . The electronic device charging system according to claim 7 , wherein when the secondary battery is charged using the electric power received by the power receiver and a voltage of the secondary battery is lower than the threshold, the electronic device sets a discharge current of the secondary battery to be equal to or smaller than a current level.

11 . The electronic device charging system according to claim 7 , wherein the power receiver comprises an electromagnetic coil.

12 . The electronic device charging system according to claim 7 , wherein the instruction to stop power transmission is sent through the power receiver.

13 . The electronic device charging system according to claim 7 , wherein the power receiver and the secondary battery are located in a battery pack.
