Abstract

An organic electroluminescence display device includes: a lower electrode that is made of a conductive inorganic material and formed in each of pixels arranged in a matrix in a display area; a light-emitting organic layer that is in contact with the lower electrode and made of a plurality of different organic material layers including a light emitting layer emitting light; an upper electrode that is in contact with the light-emitting organic layer, formed so as to cover the whole of the display area, and made of a conductive inorganic material; and a conductive organic layer that is in contact with the upper electrode, formed so as to cover the whole of the display area, and made of a conductive organic material.

Claims (37)

1. An organic electroluminescence display device comprising:

a first electrode that is in a display area;

a first organic layer that is in contact with the first electrode and includes a light-emitting layer emitting light;

a second electrode that is in contact with the first organic layer;

a second organic layer that is in physical contact with the second electrode;

a first inorganic layer that is in physical contact with the second organic layer;

a second inorganic layer that is in physical contact with the first inorganic layer;

a third inorganic layer that is on the second inorganic layer, connected with the second inorganic layer in a non-display area; and

a third organic layer that is between the second inorganic layer and the third inorganic layer.

2. The organic electroluminescence display device according to claim 1 , wherein the second organic layer is thicker than the first inorganic layer.

3. The organic electroluminescence display device according to claim 1 , wherein the first inorganic layer is made of a conductive inorganic material.

4. The organic electroluminescence display device according to claim 1 , wherein the second organic layer is made of a conductive organic material.

5. The organic electroluminescence display device according to claim 1 , wherein the second organic layer is thicker than the second electrode.

6. The organic electroluminescence display device according to claim 1 , further including an insulating film which covers an edge portion of the first electrode and has an opening exposing a part of a surface of the first electrode.

7. The organic electroluminescence display device according to claim 6 , further including a light-shielding film on the insulating film.

8. The organic electroluminescence display device according to claim 1 , wherein the second inorganic layer includes silicon and nitride.

9. The organic electroluminescence display device according to claim 1 , wherein the third inorganic layer includes silicon and nitride.

10. The organic electroluminescence display device according to claim 1 , further including a substrate on an opposite side of the second inorganic layer across the third inorganic layer.

11. An organic electroluminescence display device comprising:

a first electrode that is in a display area;

a first organic layer that is in contact with the first electrode and includes a light-emitting layer emitting light;

a second electrode that is in contact with the first organic layer;

a second organic layer that is in contact with the second electrode;

an inorganic layer that is in contact with the second organic layer; and

a sealing film that is on the inorganic layer, wherein

the first electrode, the first organic layer, the second electrode, the second organic layer, the first inorganic layer and the sealing layer are arranged in this order in cross sectional view,

the sealing film is on the display area and the non-display area, and

the sealing film is thicker than the second organic layer.

12. The organic electroluminescence display device according to claim 11 , wherein the sealing layer is thicker than the inorganic layer.

13. The organic electroluminescence display device according to claim 11 , wherein the inorganic layer is made of a conductive inorganic material.

14. The organic electroluminescence display device according to claim 11 , wherein the second organic layer is thicker than the second electrode.

15. The organic electroluminescence display device according to claim 14 , wherein the second organic layer is thicker than the second inorganic layer.

16. The organic electroluminescence display device according to claim 11 , wherein at least two inorganic layers are included in the sealing layer.

17. The organic electroluminescence display device according to claim 11 , wherein the sealing film includes silicon and nitride.

18. The organic electroluminescence display device according to claim 11 , further including an insulating film which covers an edge portion of the first electrode and has an opening exposing a part of a surface of the first electrode.

19. The organic electroluminescence display device according to claim 18 , further including a light-shielding film on the insulating film in cross sectional view.

20. The organic electroluminescence display device according to claim 11 , further including a substrate on the opposite side of the second organic layer across the sealing film.
