System and method to determine the validity of an interaction on a network
View Patent ↗A computer implemented method determines validity of web-based interactions. Web-based interaction data relating to a web-based interaction may be accessed. The web-based interaction data may include aggregate measure data that may include a number of unique queries per web-based session. The validity of the web-based interaction may be determined based on the aggregate measure data.
1. A computer implemented method for determining validity of web-based interactions, comprising:
collecting web-based interaction data for web-based interactions with a network, the web-based interaction data including at least aggregate measure data that comprises a number of unique queries per web-based session;
accessing the web-based interaction data relating to a web-based interaction with the network;
ignoring or blocking the web-based interaction based on the aggregate measure data; and
determining validity of the web-based interaction based on the aggregate measure data.
2. The method of claim 1 wherein determining the validity of the web-based interaction comprises determining the validity of the web-based interaction within a predetermined period of time.
3. The method of claim 2 further comprising, upon determining the web-based interaction is invalid within the predetermined time, automatically providing an alert to a web-based advertiser about the invalid web-based interaction.
4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: automatically adjusting an account of a web-based advertiser by reducing or removing a cost of the web-based interaction based on the aggregate measure data.
5. The method of claim 1 , where the aggregate measure data further comprises Internet click data.
6. The method of claim 1 , where the aggregate measure data further comprises Internet search result data.
7. The method of claim 1 , where the aggregate measure data further comprises Internet advertiser data.
8. The method of claim 1 , where the aggregate measure data further comprises data related to a source Internet IP address of the web-based interaction.
9. The method of claim 1 further comprising applying a predictive model to the aggregate measure data and unique feature data to produce a risk value of a click interaction on the Internet, the predictive model being built based on the collected web-based interaction data for the web-based interactions with the network, and wherein determining the validity of the web-based interaction comprises determining the validity based on the risk value.
10. A computer implemented method for monitoring and handling web-based interactions, comprising:
accessing web-based interaction data relating to a web-based interaction, the web-based interaction data comprising at least one of
a number of clicks per Internet Protocol (IP) address for a given time period,
a number of unique queries per web-based session, and
a number of network clicks for a given time period; and
handling the web-based interaction by ignoring or blocking the web-based interaction based on the web-based interaction data.
11. The method of claim 10 wherein handling of the web-based interaction further comprises automatically adjusting an account of a web-based advertiser by reducing or removing a cost of the web-based interaction.
12. The method of claim 10 wherein handling the web-based interaction further comprises determining validity of the web-based interaction based on
the number of clicks per Internet Protocol (IP) address for a given time period,
the number of unique queries per web-based session, or
the number of network clicks for a given time period.
13. The method of claim 12 wherein determining the validity of the web-based interaction comprises determining validity of the web-based interaction within a predetermined period of time to handle the web-based interaction.
14. The method of claim 13 further comprising:
determining the web-based interaction is invalid within the predetermined time; and
upon determining the web-based interaction is invalid, automatically providing an alert to a web-based advertiser about the invalid web-based interaction.
15. The method of claim 14 further comprising:
receiving, from the web-based advertiser, changed terms of an advertising contract of the web-based advertiser.
16. The method of claim 13 further comprising:
determining the web-based interaction is invalid within the predetermined time; and
upon determining the web-based interaction is invalid, automatically adjusting an account of a web-based advertiser by reducing or removing a cost of the web-based interaction.
17. The method of claim 10 wherein accessing web-based interaction data relating to a web-based interaction comprises accessing at least one of Internet search result data, Internet advertiser data and data related to respective source Internet IP addresses of the web-based interactions.
18. A computer implemented method for determining validity of web-based interactions, the method comprising:
processing web-based interactions over a network;
for the web-based interactions, storing information about at least one of:
a number of clicks per Internet Protocol (IP) address for a given time period,
a number of unique queries per web-based session, and
a number of network clicks for a given time period;
Internet search result data;
Internet advertiser data; and
data related to respective source Internet IP addresses of the web-based interactions;
aggregating the stored information to produce aggregate measure data;
receiving a web-based interaction over the network;
accessing aggregate measure data relating to a web-based interaction, the aggregate measure data comprising a number of unique actions per web-based session; and
determining the validity of the web-based interaction based on the number of unique actions per web-based session.
19. The method of claim 18 further comprising:
automatically adjusting an account of a web-based advertiser.
20. The method of claim 19 wherein automatically adjusting an account of a web-based advertiser comprises:
reducing or removing a cost of the web-based interaction based on the number of unique actions per web-based session.
